Amherst Inn & Suites

Went to stay for the solar eclipse. Original reservation was through Expedia at $135/night for April 8-9. I called the hotel that I will be arriving April 7 instead of April 8 and to add a night. They said OK. I arrived on April 7 and was charged $250/night. They said because of the solar eclipse. Dishonorable price gouging. The rooms had bugs(I have a video of it moving but it wont upload). The locks were broken(security failure). Mold in the bathroom(health failure). The staff was friendly though.

Room dirty woke up to cockroaches in the room

It was dirty, holes in walls,strange people hanging outside my door. Left the place without a refund and went somewhere else. Only stayed 1 night out of 5

Not fancy but very clean and good value for the money. Shopping close by and only 13 minutes to galleria mall and all the stores in that vicinity that we like to shop at.

Nothing special about this renovated old-style roadside motel. No breakfast. The door to the bathroom had been torn off its hinges. The bedsheets were recently stained. Even though the room was designated non-smoking, the small of stale cigarettes was distracting. And we were charged $361 for a two double-bed room fo two nights. Not recommended.

Not clean at all. Door latch broken off the door frame. Not a great neighborhood
