Holiday Inn Express Vermilion by IHG

Desk clerk denied 2 credit cards and 1 debit card. I called Bank of America and all three cards had no issues. This was an error by the staff member as she ran my credit card again and it went through. I was on phone with BOA for 30 minutes before I got through. Also stressful as I did not have another card to use. I think the clerk realized her error but did not admit it. She also suggested my cards would be denied in Ohio even though I had used my credit card for gas. Very sketchy service.

It was a good stay. The staff was very welcoming, accommodating and made chcecking in easy. A couple areas of the room could have used a little updating like the shower and one light in the bath room didn't work, but all in all, it was a good stay and nice, convenient place. The staff also gave good recommendations for food.

Called to see if we could check in one hour early because we were traveling all over Ohio that weekend for hiking and a concert. The lady at the front desk said absolutely not because they were so busy. We went there anyway and she did let us get our room. When we walked into the room we were overwhelmed by a musty smell which I’m sure is mold. The room was so damp. The carpet and bed sheets literally felt wet when you touched them. I contacted an Expedia travel agent to get us a refund and out of that room because I was worried about breathing in the smell all night. The manager did accept the refund because my room was technically not refundable so I am thankful and appreciative for that. Overall I would not stay here ever again.

Room was very clean. Bed was comfortable. Check in was easy and front desk staff were friendly and nice. Just stayed there for one night when attended a concert, but very pleased with our stay.

The location was perfect. The room was appeared clean but smelled like mildew. The bathroom defintely needs some work. It looks like an amateur did the repairs.

The staff were very polite and professional. The breakfast was out of this world. It was the best breakfast I've ever had at a hotel and I'm 60 years old.

Having to leave because I retired to Texas and I came home to visit and stayed at the hotel that I drove by for years but that was the first time ever actually entering the establishment and it truly made me feel like I was home again. Thank you!
