Holiday Inn Express Vermilion by IHG

Our room smelled like dog pee!! So gross!!

Liked that hotel was newer, clean, great breakfast, had nice snack options to purchase, couple miles from small downtown area of Vermillion and the beach and Lake Erie. Nothing else immediately close by except a car dealership. Room was very nice also, except that it was right next to the door that leads to the stairs and elevator to lobby and the door slammed everytime someone used it which was a ton of times especially early a.m and bedtime. Made it hard to sleep. Issue definitely needs addressed for a non slamming door. Also, supposed to be compensated for the noisy room experience. Everything thing else was great and would recommend.

The interior was clean and in good condition. The front entrance put me off some. The entry doors were noisy and the metal parts appeared to be rusted. Not good first impression. Staff seemed disinterested and somewhat unknowledgeable

Basically just slept and showered here. Room was clean and had all the amenities and room we wanted.

I've stayed at a few Holiday Inn Express hotels. This one was not on top of my list but the beds were comfortable.

The room wasn't like the photos I saw online (the one I picked mirrored my stay in a Ky one). It was smaller. No walk-in shower. Dark even with a few lights on. It's in the middle of crop fields, so there were spiders. The pool was freezing. (My Ky stay had a heated pool.) The beds were comfortable. My biggest complaint is that we were constantly unable to use the key cards. They had to be repeatedly recharged by the front desk. Sometimes more than once until it finally worked. I would have no access to the pool, exercise room, outdoor lock, and even our room. They blamed it on storing the card close to a cell phone. Mine was in my purse the whole afternoon, in my car. My cell was at the beach with me so that can't be true. At least 2 others complained about this too that I talked to. Fix your technology or you'll lose customers. I've never had that happen at any other location.

Clean room. Bed hurt my back

Asked for help with TV & no one came, breakfast was terrible, boy who worked at breakfast couldn't even bring a wet rag to wash off used tables. He brought a dry paper towel. Coffee machines needed constant attention which didn't get done, pancake machine didn't work, the eggs were like rubber.

The staff is always very friendly and accommodating to any request we have.
