We had a good stay with the staff being the highlight. They were very patient, courteous and friendly. They helped when we needed it, including bringing up soy milk and other items we needed in our room. The bar was a lovely place to hang out. The room was nice and was well provisioned. The downsides were the bed sheets (no fitted sheet, so it crumpled up and made it uncomfortable), the noise from rooms above (recommend requesting the highest floor), noisy fan (I had to bang it to stop it squealing), dirty windows (clouding the amazing view of the bridge), and housekeeping not topping up the tea bags/coffee pods we used (room service brought them though as soon as we called). Overall, I'd say it's a 4 star hotel, not the 5 it is claiming. It's quite expensive for what you get, but the location is pretty incredible and, of you like historic buildings, it ticks that box well.

beautiful place to stay but the dinner we paid over $400 for was disgusting. they did not have the 2 mains we ordered so i then went for the steak $135. asked for medium but it came blue covered in salt and was inedible. would stay again but would never eat there.

The property is pretty rundown and could use some maintenance. Many of the plugs and all of the USB ports in our room did not work. There were stains on furniture and linens, dirty windows, burnt out lightbulbs. The room rattled and shook loudly as people walked by in the hallway, making it difficult to sleep. In spite of the condition of the space, the staff was five star and went above and beyond to help us with our luggage, transportation needs, and recommendations. The views were stunning and the area central to most tourist activities.

My family and I stayed at the hotel for a few days and it was absolutley lovely. The staff was so nice and the breakfast was the best! Very convienently located and easy to get to restaurants etc.

We thought that the property was "tired", it requires a good revamp. The passageways seemed not to cared for properly with paper refuse on the floor. Generally not up to standard.

One of the best views in Sydney - the rooms are nice and spacious and the bar and restaurant excellent.

I have stayed at this hotel for business and pleasure on many occasions and have always had great experiences. I was however very surprised and disappointed to see that dogs are now welcomed to stay in the rooms. Having to share common areas and particularly air conditioned recycled air from the hallways into my room is not acceptable. Dogs that urinate etc at the outdoor seating area whilst we were having breakfast is not acceptable. The staff service, friendliness and the kitchen staff food presentation is excellent and by no means is a reflection upon them that animals are allowed to be allowed at this hotel. This in my opinion is a big deterrent for my future bookings when a 5 star hotel allows animals in the rooms and the public areas. We have dogs as well but I would never travel with them, far less inflect them on others when I stay at any property. Sad to say it will be my last visit here as I cannot abide animals in rooms and at the dinning areas.
