Santa Marina, a Luxury Collection Resort, Mykonos

Very good hotel.

It was dreamy!! The colors, the food, the water, the energy. Loved every minute of it. Was the exact reset I needed. I can't wait to go back!!

Elevator always broken so you had to walk up and down huge steps to get anywhere. Free shuttle from town-forget it. 12:05 shuttle back to hotel was 1/2 hour late so we got picked up at 12:30 am and the little shuttle bus was not big enough so two 6-4 men had to climb in trunk of bus for 20 minute ride back to hotel. No joke. Waiter asked if we wanted water when we sat down-only to find out when check came that we were charged US $14.70 FOR WATER! We talked to guest relations and they did absolutely nothing. And, in room they have Welcome Card by coffee maker. Open card-blank inside. So we made two cups of coffee. Only to find out that each coffee pod was 4 euro. Ridiculous. All of this-go somewhere else. Plenty of 5 star places to stay. Every waiter, every person who worked there had their hand out for tips. They nickle and dime you. Go somewhere else-plenty of other places to choose from. Dinner, drinks and lunch was so expensive for what you got. $12 US for a beer. Ordered Cod for dinner-fifteen minutes later waiter came back and said they were out of cod so he wanted to sell me a more expensive red fish. Run from this place!

Second stay in 3 weeks . Had gone to Menorca, but weather was bad so bailed out and high tailed it back to Santana M . The room was not as nice (small ) as first time and had bit of a persistent musty smell (air con filter?). Otherwise lying by pool, looking down on beach and up to hotel and stunning blue sky beyond was just marvellous. Ate at Buddha Bar . Certainly as good as any restaurant on the island . Expresso Martinis there definitely the best . Saturday night turned out to be Party Night . Great music . Great crowd . Great fun.

The Santa Marina offers a perfect place to relax and recharge. The rooms are beautiful and clean with great views over the bay. The gym is well equipped for those that wish to use it. The Bhuddha bar is a great place to eat at night and during the day is a lovely beach restaurant. The beach bar staff are very friendly as well as the reception staff. If you want to relax then the Santa Marina is for you.

The Santa Marina is an exquisite resort hotel. If you want to be removed from the hustle and bustle of the island, have some quite solitude on a private beach and feel a bit indulgent, then it's perfect. My husband and I, though, prefer to feel a bit more connected to the local scene than the Santa Marina allows. One must take a taxi or the hotel shuttle into town, or to the popular beaches. The restaurant on site, the Buddha Bar, is high quality and absolutely delicious, but it's very expensive. A short walk will get you to dinner at great eateries that cost a lot less.

This Starwood luxury property is a modern oasis in Mykonos. Being in the town of Ornos, a 10 minute drive from the great shopping and splendor of old town, makes this property quiet and an oasis from the chaos of the masses. The property is about a half hour walk to the old town - not recommended due to dangerous streets (narrow, crazy drivers, twisty turns, no sidewalks, etc.). Th eproperty has two nice pools and a private sea-side beach. Also a Buddha Bar associated with the one in Paris - but quite tame and closes for the winter in late September. Very nice breakfast buffet. Free wifi, but poor bandwidth in the rooms.

This is an excellent beach front resort in a delightful setting with fabulous views. The design and layout is pleasing and the property is generally well finished and maintained but is difficult to negotiate for anyone who has a problem moving about. Room and bathroom quality is excellent as are the beds which are extremely comfortable. Food quality is of a high standard. So it is a great pity that the quality of staff fails to match the above standards. Our party preferred to stay around the main pool during the day rather than go to the beach. However, it's clear that the management pay little attention to the pool area and encourage guests to go down to the beach. On both the Friday and Saturday during our stay, a wedding had been booked and the pool area became a thoroughfare for all the equipment for the weddings to the point where it became impossible to enjoy a quiet morning by the pool. The management clearly did not have a system in place to deal with this and when it was brought to their attention, the response was more confrontational and defensive rather than a sincere attempt to appease our party. For a hotel with a 5 star rating this was unacceptable. Some of the waiting staff were very pleasant and did their best to live up to the hotel's rating, but others seemed unhappy to be there and provided service begrudgingly. This inconsistency in service let down the hotel and marred what should have been a relaxing and hassle-free stay.
