Little outdated but very clean and friendly staff

Great place for what we needed!

Very clean room, but quite cramped. Walls thin. Room right off breakfast room, could hear everything going on there. Ok for the most basic of stays.

My wife and I made a quick decision vacation through MI. Being Labor Day weekend we were faced with outrageous prices. We found this hotel. It was more than normal, but still not as bad as surrounding hotels. I was a little concerned because my wife is much more picky about hotels than I, but she was happy with the room. She said it felt safe, we checked the beds, no signs of any creepy crawlies. Mattress pads looked good. The beds were a bit plain and hard, but over all this was a great no frills, clean room. It was relatively quiet. Would stay again if passing through the area.

This place is a joke! I was planning on staying for 2 days and then couldn't do to covid. I called and cancelled a week prior and the lady i spoke with never cancelled so I was charged for a room that I was supposed to be cancelled. I called and spoke with 2 different ladies and no one could help me. Apparently the manager/owner was going to call me back and hopefully refund my money but that never happened. I am so pissed. I will be contacting my bank to get my money back. My phone records prove that I called. Don't waste your time here and be careful of this shady place.

My husband and I stayed this hotel, Rodeway Inn, in Kalkaska on August 11, 2021 and we were charged incorrectly for our stay. We were quoted a price by Choice and the person at the front desk charged us more, when I questioned it she told me it was Choice Hotels cost and she couldn’t fix it and if I have an issue I should call them. So we called Choice Hotels and the first person we talked to was not helpful and told us we had to join their travel club to get that price. We then asked for a supervisor to speak to and after a very long wait, we finally got Nami on the line and again after a long discussion she called the hotel to ask the manager to adjust the cost to meet our original quote, total talk time 1.5 hours. When we checked out I requested a copy of our bill and was given a slip indicating a credit! Today is August 29, 2021, and we just got the refund after 3 calls to the hotel and lots of promises, Parisa “got the owner” to issue a credit! And the hotel room was really dirty, the carpet was wet and matted, like it hadn’t been cleaned or vacuumed in years. The woman (nshako-on receipt as name) at the front desk was out smoking most of the time and very unprofessional and rude. Never again!!!

I should of known after reading through the reviews that I would be in for an experience. Being on work travel and getting a better rate than the public.. they decided to put me a room that appeared to be an old closet that is attached to the lobby. This room had a lock that didn't operate....other than the deadbolt. I was told to just break in the room by sliding the key criminal style to open to the lock from the outside. The room was disgusting with dirt and food on the floor. When I arrived and checked out. there was nobody around and had to dial the number to have someone help me. I think they are only in the office for a few hours a day due to to the cv19... but you will likely find someone out front smoking. I take it that smoking is safer than cv19 these days. The attitude from the worker at this location was less than positive.

We had a late check-in and apparently the lady at the desk didn't appreciate that we kept her up ;ate, Checked in around 10pm and after handing me my key, she immediately locked up and left, No elevator. Stairs that go to the second floor are dangerously steep! No kidding! They are not in code!! Room was the smallest I have ever stayed in. Bed was clean. This place should be closed!

Billed $40.00 for something on the sheets. Have no idea what they are talking about and would not tell me what it was. Would not recommend this hotel. The charge was put on my bill the day that we signed in.

When I made my reservation I asked for a few requests and they made them all available to me. Very friendly staff 😀
