Residence Inn by Marriott Williamsburg

I have stayed at Marriott’s primarily during my travels for the last 15 years - in the US, carribean, and Europe. None were as filthy and dirty as this Residence Inn. Stayed from a Friday and thru Monday - despite 3 requests got no housekeeping at all. We had a suite that slept 7 and never even got clean towels. I called ahead upon our check in as we wouldnt be arriving til 11:30 pm and were coming with 5 young children. Assured us they would have room ready and pull out ready. Got to our room and the pull out wasnt ready- nor were there any spare sheets or blankets to be found to make the pull out up. We went down to the front desk around 12:30 AM and they were on the house with one sheet and said they had no pillows for the pull out?? we used a spare blanket we had from the car and did not have a spare pillow. There was no toilet paper in the one bathroom and a half used roll in the other with no spare. The room itself was filthy - see attached pictures and videos. Curtains had dried food (?) on them, vents were totally covered in layers of dirt and dust - completely disgusting. Mud on top of one sheet and doors themself were filthy. Had we not arrived so late with 5 little kids, I would have absolutely switched hotels - tried to the next morning but nothing available last minute to switch to that fit 7. There was no drain in one of the tubs to fill to bath kids with. Lobby itself was also very dirty. A random keurig machine on a table for cofffee for guests to use in the lobby. There was an ice cream freezer that was free ice cream 4-8 pm - it was half filled and several boxes of ones that werent opened. Asked if they could open one of the boxes to refill and were told no for no reason at all. Overall this was prob the worst hotel experience I have been in - I would never return. Hotel desk did not care, respond, or provide housekeeping despite my many many requests.

The size of the room and the fire pit.

The roaches I found in my room, the dirty clothes left in my closet and the dirty socks in the other room. The room was not properly cleaned - someone's fake nail was found on the living room floor, there was a popsicle stick and muffin wrapper under the couch, the stove was dirty inside and on top, the refrigerator was very dusty on top and there were crumbs all around the refrigerator, the bottom of the showers were stained, some of the towels were stained, and the pull out couch had stains all over it. Housekeeping did come, they made the beds and gave us fresh towels, but didn't touch the overflowing trash or recycle.

Great staff all around. Breakfast had so many choices. Large room sizes. Beds were made very well. Clean linens.

Room was not clean. There was a sock in the bottom of the night stand table left from someone else who stayed in the room. Sticky end table and three spiders in the room during our two night stay.

The tub had a stain in it that didn't look appealing to get in.

What was not to like?! Every amenity, Room Size, Cleanliness of the Hotel, Pool and hot tub use at the end of September was a Huge Perk! The quality of the Breakfast, Exceptional Customer Service, Staff Friendliness was Amazing! We could not believe how beautiful the hotel was kept with it being pet friendly, our dog was so comfortable and calm at this hotel!! The location was perfect for our leisure and sightseeing!

Staff members were all cheerful attentive and helpful. Elaina was the best!!! Room was spacious with all we needed!

It was great to have a space for us and our dog- was very easy to travel with the pet, and their staff was so accommodating.

Staff was very friendly, our AC broke in our home so we needed a place for four adults and our dog. The double room with rollaway bed was perfect. Best breakfast at an American hotel yet!!! Waffles, eggs, bacon, biscuits and A full oatmeal bar. Also had alternative milk. 70% of Americans with don’t drink dairy or are allergic and maybe a few hotels carry alternative milk. So thank you
