The room size and decoration was pretty good. Albeit above a pub it was also pretty quiet. A nice warm room.

This may only be relevant to room 5 where we stayed, however, the first thing you notice is that the headboard is extremely worn, not a huge issue. However that then deposits flakes of vinyl onto the pillows and cushions. The cushions were so bad that when you patted them the dirt and crap that came off was like brown snow. The worst point though was during the night as the shower drains either dried out or the daytime bleach leached away the smell everytime the ensuite door was opened it was rank. It was disgusting and ruined everything else. Otherwise this was a solid 8/10 room that needed a new headboard.

We decided to visit The Griffin Inn recently with the family, hoping for a relaxing, quiet drink. We purchased our drinks — a pint of lager, a glass of white wine, and two hot chocolates—and found a small, unoccupied table in a side room. We noticed the tables directly next to the main bar had 'reserved' signs, but our table did not. Halfway through our drinks, a female member of staff abruptly and rudely marched into the room and ordered us to move, stating the tables in this area were reserved. We were completely shocked by her attitude and the manner in which she addressed us. To be spoken to so aggressively and publicly, in front of other patrons, was truly disgraceful. In fact, another couple felt compelled to approach us afterwards, commenting that the staff member's communication was "appalling." We did speak to the staff member about her manner, and she offered a half-hearted apology, claiming her behaviour was due to the pub being busy. While we understand the pressures of a busy shift, there is absolutely no excuse for such poor customer service or disrespect. Sadly, The Griffin Inn is clearly not maintaining the standard it once had. Given this terrible experience, I will not be returning to this establishment and would urge others to be cautious.
