King Solomon Hotel

Nice location close to the restaurants by the sea. Restaurant staff was helpful. Good party on Saturday :)

No free internet connectivity in the rooms. Pool is quite murky, probably because swim in it with all their clothes on instead of proper swimwear.

The location was good but the hotel needs some TLC.

The bedroom was very basic and the lift was broken so it was along way up with heavy bags.

The location was good (central Honiara). The bar was okay.

This is a third rate hotel charging premium prices - probably the worst value room I've ever had. I had apparently booked a room with a garden view - all I could see was the tin roof. The bedding was terrible - torn sheets, sheets too small for the bed, uncomfortable mattress, stained and holey towel. The (deep) swimming pool was unattended and there was quite a lot of litter about. Groups of barking dogs in the middle of the night didn't help either. I booked a shuttle back to the airport for 8:30am. At 8am, the driver knocked on my door to ask if I could go at 9am with another couple. I agreed because I thought I had plenty of time. I checked out at 8:50am and then waited at reception for the ride as requested. By 9:02, he hadn't shown and by 9:10 I was more than a little put out. It turns out he'd left for the airport with the other couple at 8:46am. They eventually got me a taxi which got me to the airport for 9:35am.

The staff were very friendly, and the food was great. It was only a short walk into the town, and the swimming pool was awesome.

The fridge was way too small, and there was no microwave, Jug, toaster or iron. There was no air conditioner downstairs in the restaurant.
