Villa Caparica Hostel

It was a very nice clean hotel and location, beautiful clean beach, interesting area when I explored. Excellent for exercising. Also, the kitchen and building was beautiful and clean. Very beautiful intelligent helpful receptionists as well :D Portugal is a beautiful country with an excellent underlying infrastructure in that area.

Dudes that shared the room was an Indian dude that snored louder than a lion's roar. They had a sleep apnea machine, then another dude came in and snored just as loud if not louder. He was there my entire stay XC. They snored and stayed there the entire week I was there XO. Snorers should have their own room. Like never has sleeping at a hostel been so uncomfortable. When I mentioned it, they said they didn't have any extra rooms (which was true because a bunch of kids came in from a school and had the rooms). While passable, the rooms can be exponentially improved for cheap by making a few small changes. It was hard to sleep. Also, most hostels usually have privacy curtains around each of the beds, this one did not. Consequently, people can watch you while you sleep. Also, each of the beds did not have plugs, so you had to find one and plug your electronics in out of view and other people could take them if they wanted. Another issue that I found was that the hostel was lacking is that usually each of the beds in hostels usually have personal wall mounted mini tables and personal lamps inside them to hold personal items. This hostel did not. The curtains prevent the lamp lights from being seen by the other beds. Also, they could be a bit more organized with the locker keys, because they didn't know which keys went with which locker. They should develop a labelling system for this.

Great location, and an accommodating manager who gave us another (bigger) room (at no extra cost) to be away from the sounds coming from the lower reception area.

The building is old, so noise comes through from other rooms.

The property is exceptional but the behaviour of the staff needs lot to be desired

It is very noisy at night, the rooms should be sound proof, you can hear literally anything, from people talking at the reception, slamming doors or simply having a shower. A real shame, because the hostel itself it is very good.

Very nice hostel in the proximity of the beach. Great surf schools nearby.

Localisation: 24-hour tickets on white transportation cards do not work on this side of the river. If you do not know that and do not have the prepaid ticket, you will pay extra for the bus tickets to the driver.
