House of Gods Hotel

First time writing a review but felt this hotel definitely deserved the recognition of the fantastic time that me and my husband received. We wanted something different for our 14th wedding anniversary and upon googling we found this hotel and after booking we were given an upgrade on our room. We had the package Treat me like I’m Famous and felt so special to see our room decorated and the little card congratulating us on our anniversary. The small touches with the package including the cocktail made in our room just added to our day. Important to note the staff at the hotel were amazing nothing a bother and so friendly it was lovely to be taken to your room rather then just handed your key card. My favourite was definitely the hot cookies at bedtime with milk I felt like a kid again and then waking to breakfast in bed the hamper being a lovely touch. The rooms are small and the tv does need upgraded with channels but this didn’t reflect as a negative as the positives outweigh the simply perfect anniversary break we had.

This hotel is amazing! The art, decorations, & rooms are incredible! The hotel staff is extremely accommodating & quick. They were also very kind & friendly. The hotel itself has great WiFi, entertainment, awesome hotel bar, and my favorite part it is extremely secure , need a key card to get in & out.

This was the most unique hotel experience. They left a beautiful note for us. The room was small, but we focused on the experience of it and how uniquely decorated it was. We really enjoyed our time there and even the halls were an experience to walk through. The lobby was just perfect with its fun decor.

House of Gods was something we were excited for however turned out to be a great experience during the day, however a bit of a nightmare at night. The staff are exceptional, but the rooms A/C was broken, and there are no windows in the room. We struggled to breathe, it was very claustrophobic, and the sleep was uncomfortable. Also the cookies were hard and cold :( not warm and gooey as advertised . Breakfast hamper was good.

Really cosy hotel and ideal for a couple’s getaway. They have the vibe down-to-a-tee, and it’s basically exactly what you would imagine - comfortable, sensual and intimate. The rooms are definitely on the smaller side, but that added to the aesthetic for us. From what the hotel manager told us, every room is unique in size; you might get a smaller room with a massive bathroom (that’s what we got), or a larger room with a smaller bathroom. Either way, it isn’t an issue for us. Manager Miles (or Myles, not sure how it’s spelled) and Angela were both great workers and seemed like they really cared about guest satisfaction. Our Mimosa Morning package meant that we were given some nice drinks and a breakfast hamper in the morning, and we could also call for milk and warm cookies whenever we wanted! Great location too, only 10 minutes from Prince’s Street and close to many nice bars. Our only issue was with the TV, which was an older JVC model with dodgy remote and volume controls. It also was not connected to the WiFi when we were first welcomed to room, which we sorted ourselves. The TV is a “mirror television” which sounds interesting at first, but there’s already so many mirrors in the room that it felt like a bit of a cheap gimmick. The mirror tv was also placed at the end of the bed and high up on the wall, which makes the mirror aspect seem useless as you’d have to actually stand on the bed to see yourself in it. The mirror is basically just a reflective glass box that the TV shines through when it’s on, and the inside of the glass box had not been cleaned. This meant that, when we were settling down for the night and watching our show on Netflix, we had to squint through dust and marks while watching, and we couldn’t clean them ourselves since we couldn’t get into the glass box. It’s not a big complaint, just a nitpick (because who goes to an intimate hotel for couples in a capital city just to watch TV), but it annoys me a bit when a hotel tries to do too much when all of the pieces are already there. The rooms already have a lovely vibe, you don’t need to ruin it with silly gimmicks that create more problems than they solve. Maybe invest in slimmer, newer TVs that don’t need to be in a mirrored box because they already look like they belong in the room. This doesn’t detract from my score, it’s just a constructive note on how to refine the smaller details, because that’s what ultimately matters most in hotel. A stunning property. Totally unique in its style, design, decor and approach. A truly different experience and one to highly recommend. Already booked to stay again . The write ups are not inaccurate…. Decadence meets orient express !!!

Amazing experience with the "Treat me like I'm famous" package! From dropping bags off all the way through to check out couldn't have asked for better service! Sadly didnt get all the names, but Ryan especially was very attentive, knowledgeable and really went above and beyond. Drinks were fantastic too! Well definately be back!!

Best cocktails ever, excellent staff - shout out to Miles and Africa. We were made to feel special from the minute we arrived to leaving. A night away with a difference - thoroughly recommend, especially if taking advantage of one of the deals

We had a great time at the House of Gods. The staff were very welcoming Miles was fantastic at check out time, we had a lovely glass of prosecco at check in and the hotel had a lovely atmosphere. Modelled on the Orient Express the corridors were quite dim with curtains along the walls and it really had a lovely feel. The rooms again were like cabins on the train small but very well appointed and atmospheric. Breakfast was delivered to the room in a little hamper which was packed with delicious goodies. There is no onsite car park just in case you are driving. Overall it was fantastic.

When someone offers you a glass of Prosecco as you come through the door you just KNOW you're in the right place! The entire experience was fantastic. Staff couldn't do enough to help. Our suite was very well appointed and absolutely spotless. Great bed and amenities, we couldn't have been happier. Prosecco on ice in the room, cocktails galore downstairs in the beautiful cocktail bar, milk and cookies when we got back in at night and a fabulous breakfast hamper with mimosas to kick start our day! Some of the reviews have been inconsistent but in my opinion you have everything here to have a fantastic stay and the staff make everything so special. If you don't have a good time you've only yourself to blame. House of God's ROCKS!! Thanks for a great stay everyone, we miss you already.
