"Still a Decent Stay"

We had a good stay at Holiday Inn Express, Fort Wayne North, last year and elected to stop again this year. The hotel is beginning to show its age. The worst concern was the smell in the bathroom. Housekeeping is taking shortcuts, not adequately cleaning the base of the shower walls, the baseboards and corners in the room, and the refrigerator. Towels are stained. Still, it was a decent stay overall in a spacious king room.

The check in was great and the common area was clean and updated. The hallway was really dirty. Our room looked like they didn’t clean the floor in the bathroom at all with lots of other people’s hairs all over the floor. The bathtub had mold, too. The mini fridge had not been cleaned at all and was full of spilled food. The beds were lacking especially the pull out mattress. Though the pillows were better than normal. Also the coffee at breakfast was ridiculous. It was out of a special machine that took forever and on the weekend there was a line. We were in a hurry and couldn’t wait to get any. I was really disappointed. There should have been a separate carafe for those that didn’t want to wait.

"We expected more from IHG."

The public parts of the hotel was fine. Staff was friendly and competent. However the room wasn’t great. The bathroom shower/tub had black mold in several places. The toilet paper holder was completely broken. The bed was fine. The lighting was inadequate for the room size. Felt like a dungeon.

Overwhelmed staff, rooms not clean, thin walls. One person at check-in completely overwhelmed as rooms were being given out that already had people checked in or were not yet cleaned. Would never recommend this place.

Wouldn’t stay here again. Pool was dirty and smelly, our room wasn’t cleaned at all in the three days we were there - no fresh towels, trash not emptied. Wouldn’t reccomend.
