"Good location, a lot of rules"

Very convenient location, really nice old style building

I feel the ambience of the property was reduced somewhat by the endless rules taped to walls etc which gave the impression you were staying in someone’s house who didn’t want you to touch anything

"Exceptional"

I loved this traditional Japanese house. We stayed in the bunk bed room and oh my god the best blanket. Not too hot or cold and kept me cozy when we visited during the fall festival as it was rainy and cold outside. Although bathrooms are shared had no issues. I appreciated that the toilet and shower are separated so you don’t have to wait for an entire bathroom if someone is showering. Loved the location.

"Nice but not at high price"

Sleeping in a traditional Japanese house

The quality ratio was not good(45j yen around 3000 USD for just a room with futon) is a bit overpriced, I thought when booking that this was not a backpack type of lodging. The owner is very nice and very good location though

"Great location to explore Takayama"

The guesthouse was in a great location, close to the Higashiyama walking trail. The house is a cool traditional building. The beds were comfortable with a warm duvet.

The property was very cold in the communal areas. Towels provided were small and very well used.

The advice of the landlord. It's fantastic for onsen and place to go. Good English level. They help with our luggage to the staircase.

Poor lighting and bit smallish . The washing machine did not work, not in luck. The staircase was really hard (steep and turning) like a lot of them in japan.

"Tasteful house and very nice owner"

Really beautifully renovated traditional Japanese house and a really friendly and welcoming owner.

The room was a little bit small but big enough for us.

"I’ve regret to not staying longer."

Very traditional japanese old house, but with modern n convenient facilities. The bed, is super duper awesome! Can fell it’s quality n my brother love it too! We almost wanna ask owner where can we buy its bed. The owner is really nice n helpful, can talk fluent english, let me check in at very late night, due to I’ve missed train.

Nothing, I love here!
