There was nothing I didn't like

Rooms are dark with cheap dated furniture. Hotel generally looks worn, mark on walls chipped paint on numerous door frames. Bed and pillows low quality, sheets and bedding also look worn. Front of house staff could use some training and they also have the infamous “destination” fee that they hit you with, really ridiculous.

The hotel is fine and a great location if you are a tourist. It is less than satisfactory as a business hotel. There is no business center or public workspace. The real challenge is that the desk in the room is configured so poorly that there is essentially no place to work. There is a tiny space for a laptop but the pop-up electrical is in the middle of that space with nowhere else to plug in. The staff also made it clear they they don't upgrade for Marriott status. Internet was difficult to connect to and Bluetooth on the television had a consistently poor connection. Room was clean enough and nice view but if you plan to work while you are here consider another hotel.

Everything was great

Every employee at the hotel was friendly and courteous. Two employees, Cris and Jana, were exceptionally kind. They tried their utmost to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Jana was extremely polite during my interactions with her. When I told her that a DoorDash delivery failed to happen, she told me that I could always request a refund — which I did. Several other employees were courteous. We felt like welcomed guests. But Jana and Cris deserve high honors.

Visited for a brief overnight stay. Lobby area feels a trifle tired but staff were attentive and professional. I was upgraded to a large room that was well appointed. Layout was unimaginative but functional. The room was a little dark but everything worked to expectations, re: climate control, TV, lighting, wifi etc. Bed was comfortable and the walk-in shower provided adequate water pressure. Amenities and furnishings were as expected for the chain. Breakfast at the Sabroso was acceptable but not great. I object to the "destination fee" charged that was relived in part by their providing an offset to the charge for my breakfast. Location was great.
