Montaña de fuego Mountain Resort & Spa

Location is good. It is an older resort which could use update. We stayed in two different resort during our stay in La Fortuna. We paid $150 less for this one but definitely see the difference. We did a morning bird tour that is offered by the resort which was okay due to the rain. Staff was nice. Hot springs were nice. Rooms and facility was clean.

I really wanted to love this hotel, but it fell short in several areas. The amenities were just okay and the food was disappointing. If I had to do it again, I wouldn’t choose the all-inclusive option, as we ended up eating in town and even took a cooking class to avoid the hotel meals. If you want good coffee and breakfast walk down to coffee time. Excellent coffee, service and food was amazing. Some of the staff were friendly, but others (a women) especially at the front desk seemed bothered by simple questions. One woman in particular acted as if helping guests was an interruption, which set a frustrating tone. The hot springs were definitely a highlight, but the rooms felt outdated and the bathrooms could really use a full renovation. We didn’t spend much time in the room, so it didn’t ruin our trip, but overall, I wouldn’t choose this hotel again.

I hope this review helps to make the right choice of the hotel: We chose Montana De Fuego for its beautiful setting, and I have to say the views of La Fortuna Mountain from our room were absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to that scenery was the highlight of our stay. We booked a Superior Room, which was clean and tidy, but honestly, it didn’t feel “superior” as advertised. The basics were there, but nothing about the room stood out as special. What really let us down was the service. The front desk staff never greeted us, and their attitude felt consistently unfriendly, both in the mornings and evenings. It wasn’t just one bad interaction it was the same every day, which made us feel unwelcome. The most frustrating moment came when I booked a hike tour through the hotel. After waiting 40 minutes at the front desk, I was told the reservation had been made for the wrong day when the guide was taking day off. Instead of apologizing, the staff questioned who I booked with, which felt dismissive and unprofessional. I booked with either (Julio or Justin) The restaurant food was average at best—not what you’d expect from a property that claims to be 4-star. The hot spring pool looked unclean, and the “mud bath” was literally just a small bowl of mud, which felt more like a gimmick than an amenity. In the end, the location is undeniably beautiful, but the lack of hospitality and disappointing facilities overshadowed it. If you’re visiting La Fortuna, I’d recommend spending a little more for a hotel that matches the beauty of the surroundings with genuine service and a better overall experience.

I think this is the only all inclusive option in La Fortuna, I could not find another online, Any way we made a very good choose , The hotel is very nice located , nice spa and many activities in the area.

Very nice hotel and very good location right in front of the renal Volcano, We had a very nice time in la fortuna there area many things to do, Canopy, Horseback riding , atv tours and much more

La Fortuna is an amazing place with many options on hiking adventure activities, Hot Springs and more, We were at montana for 3 nights and we just loved this place, Very nice rooms, Great Restaurant and very good service in all the areas.

The hospitality staff was really friendly and nice. The different pools are really enjoyable and clean. Food is also really good. If you can afford taking a massage please do, they are really good and not that expensive. Overall a positive experience. They do need better lighting on the place

Was a good time in the hotel, the price for national tourist is high, but is ok. The treatment in the spa was fonder full and the are ok
