Montaña de fuego Mountain Resort & Spa

If you’re looking to relax surrounded by nature, this is the place! Hotel Montana de Fuego has beautiful gardens, warm pools, and amazing views. I loved waking up to the sounds of the rainforest. The food was excellent and the cocktails were top-notch. I can’t wait to come back.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The spa is fantastic — I had one of the best massages of my life! The rooms are spacious and have great views of the volcano. The all-inclusive meals were fresh and tasty. Couldn’t ask for more.

Hotel Montaña de Fuego was absolutely amazing! The view of the Arenal Volcano is breathtaking — you can literally see it right from your room. The all-inclusive service made everything stress-free, and the food was delicious. I especially loved relaxing in the pools after a morning hike. Highly recommend!

Albeit a nice resort, Is started out horribly with breakfast. Check in went very smoothly the previous day, everyone was kind and friendly,they kindly delivered our bag to the room. After not expecting a buffet as told to us the previous not, there was only 4 things to order for breakfast. I ordered an item that thematic to the Volcano the was visible outside the restaurant. The waiter came back and said they didn't have it. I was flabbergasted and astounded, but kept my cool after a deep breath. I ordered thier version of a American breakfast for which I ate in protest. The bacon was under cooked, toast not toasted anyway I really wasn't pleased. I got in touch with the tour company to voice my displeasure and they would investigate. From that point on they went out of their to make us happy, which I appreciated. The rest of the stay was fine, I have to say the "Volcano" on the breakfast menu wasn't all that either. They also mistakenly charged us for something that was supposed be a credit that was offered by the tour company and we have to an indefinite time to get a charge back. English spoken could have been a bit better too.

The place is really relaxing, the termals are not too hot. The service is good and the personel is very kind. The only issue is that the room did not have wifi connection.

Nice food, nice costumer service, beautiful environment and Arenal Volcano views. Great resort room service. Highly recommended.

DO NOT STAY HERE! This resort misrepresents itself online. The bathroom was horrible! First of all, the bathrooms appear to have never been updated. There’s mold everywhere. We had a really bad leak in our bathroom. We’d walk into the bathroom and our feet would be soaked. We contacted management to try to get it fixed but were ignored. The poor front desk people were nice but nothing was done. They sent a security guard to see if he could fix it. One time a maintenance person came to look at it, after our persistent pleas, he said he was leaving to get a tool and would be back but never came back. Our entire stay we had this issue. There was at least an inch of pooled water. We asked to switch rooms because the leak was so bad but were ignored. They kept saying they would contact us but never did. I emailed management afterwards and included pictures. They said they would get back to us and one month later still haven’t contacted us. The website, including Expedia say this resort has Wifi, that is another lie! They told us at the resort they haven’t had wifi in YEARS! The mud pit advertised is so gross, it’s one little bowl with one paint brush that everyone uses. The so called thermal pools are dirty ponds and they are cold. The pool bar closes at 6pm. I would not book this resort again or recommend it to anyone. The foliage around the resort is stunning but that doesn’t make the resort good enough to stay at.

This resort was a great way to experience La Fortuna, Costa Rica. The grounds are so amazing themselves. As one would expect, there is a spa and private hot spring pools. What is a surprise is to find trails with so much wildlife on the grounds of the resort. There were many wild animals and insects with beautiful flora. That being said, what stood out the most to us was the staff. There was one staff member who made our trip incredibly enjoyable. Susie and I had such a great time with Jorge who clearly loves his job. He attended to our baggage needs when we checked in, as well as giving us night tours of all the insects and animals. He is an exceptional photographer and without any hesitation took amazing photos of the many animals we encountered. What a blessing he was!! Happy with the experience in this hotel AND the most amazing night tour with passionate Jorge. Beatiful garden and nice view of the volcano. Totally recommended.
