Montaña de fuego Mountain Resort & Spa

It's my 4th time in the property. I stayed with my Family in a room - Not bad, but bugs get into the room. The facilities are being renovated, as we saw, but Pool and Restaurant need a revamp urgently...Loking like an 80's property

We stayed at Hotel Montaña de Fuego for 6 nights for our honeymoon and loved it! Our room had volcano views, was very clean, and felt newly renovated. The breakfast was great, and we enjoyed the hot springs and trails around the hotel property. The resort is close to town, which made it easy to find good dinner spots, and it is close to fun activities (such as a short drive to Mistico Park). Overall, we highly recommend staying here. And while you're there, we also recommend the night tour with Jorge. He was great and showed us sloths, lizards, frogs, snakes, raccoons, and other animals!

Views where gorgeous and staff very inviting

This resort property is an extremely welcoming and comfortable property- shout out to Michael- who made sure that I was acquainted properly on my arrival with the property. the accomodations are in individual airconditioned immaculately clean cabins. There is a well laid iut daily breakfast. The pools are warm- there is an area to apply volcanic mud- There are activities linked to this resort like hiking, ziplines, horseback riding etc- these are at a charge- but- there are free "tours" as well like a nighttime tour with Jorge- we saw multicolouered frogs, various insects, a racoon, and a sloth! There is a complementary birdwatching tour early in the am as well, I wholly recommend this accomodation for a very comfortable stay near to Arenal and many local activities.

We had the best experience at Montana de Fuego. We were greeted with a very delicious drink as soon as we got there, they helped us with any questions we had and the crew was very sweet! Jorge was fantastic! He does a night tour around the resort where you can spot animals such as frogs toads, lizards and if your lucky a sloth who lives at the resort. Jorge greeted us with a smile everyday, making us feel at home! He made sure we were comfortable, and would ask if we needed any assistance, which goes a long way.

Our roof leaked during the rain storm. Our bedding was wet and after 2 hours they changed to dry bedding You can see daylight from inside the cabin. The view was good but the room was outdated. The restaurant was outstanding and breakfast was stellar.

This hotel is very outdated and the shower floor was very slick. You could see daylight between the boards on the walls. It came a rainstorm with high winds and the roof leaked everywhere including on our beds. Two hours after we called the front desk, they brought us dry bedding. The hotel is a dump but the restaurant was superb.

An absolutely heavenly spot. Good food, excellent rooms, the friendliest staff, wonderful pool and hot spring area. Breathtaking views of the volcano and close enough to the city to make it in for easy explorations. We would love to return.

Our time at Montana de Fuego was amazing! The staff was happy to help and accommodated to anything we asked of them quickly and efficiently. The swim up bar and pool area was a place our family frequented and enjoyed. Jorge and Tatianna were specifically very helpful, Jorge was very hospitable to our family and brought us stuff for s'mores one night, and even brought First-Aid when our son burnt himself. When our transportation was confused, Tatianna went out of her way to help us arrange a ride. Overall, a phenomenal experience, and we would recommend to anyone who is looking for a Costa Rican experience!
