Unfortunately, the hotel just isn't keeping up with maintenance. We were there 17 years ago and had a great experience but returned last month to many issues. The first problem is that they didn't forewarn us that they didn't have wifi working in the hotel rooms (only the lobby and restaurant seemed to get wifi). Huge problem for kiddos in the evenings especially (it rained a lot in the evenings so being outside wasn't an option). Next, they put is in a bungalow next to the busy, noisy highway. We complained the next day but they said they could not move us even though there appeared to be empty bungalows nearby. Next, the shower had cracked tiles that moved under pressure and actually cut my foot slightly. Next, they had motion sensor lights lighting the paths to the bungalows which is nice at first. However, these same lights turn off and on every 30 second to a minute due to animals or plants moving in the night. The room lit up via the exterior windows every night (3 nights), so that was fun. Finally, we explained all the problems and were only offered one free meal from the "special" menu which included a limited selection of entrees. They didn't even relent on letting us order something at least halfway decent from the regular menu. Poor customer service all around. The hotel isn't what it used to be. Won't be returning which is a shame.

We got the all-inclusive package and it did not disappoint. Buffets for lunch and dinner and menu items for lunch. Plus unlimited drinks if you have the premium package.

Amazing property! The view from our room was to die for! The waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. Kudos to Fernando.

I like this place that is very beautiful. There is a hot spring inside. Convenient location, not too far. There are many restaurants nearby. Spacious room. Fully equipped for my family. If I have the chance, I will come back.

Extremely Disappointing – Poor Hygiene, False Advertising, and Unprofessional Staff As someone who works in hospitality, I was truly disbelieving of the service and condition of this resort. Upon arrival, it was obvious that the room had not been cleaned the mirror was dirty, there was mold on the wall, and gecko droppings were visible. This level of neglect and lack of hygiene is unacceptable in any accommodation. They advertised Wi-Fi in the room, but there was no Wi-Fi access in the bedroom at all. The family room did not uphold expectations it was cramped, poorly maintained, and fell far below any reasonable standard. When I brought these concerns to the reception, the staff member was rude, dismissive, and unethical. There was no apology, no attempt to make things right just an unprofessional attitude that left us completely dissatisfied. Coming from the hospitality industry myself, I was shocked at how poorly everything was handled. This resort lacks both cleanliness and basic customer care. I strongly urge future guests to reconsider booking until serious improvements are made.

Not Worth the Stay – Unclean Room & Rude Staff I’m in the hospitality industry myself, and I was shocked at the state of this resort. Our room was clearly not cleaned before arrival the mirror was filthy, mold covered parts of the wall, and there was gecko poop in several spots. Despite promising Wi-Fi in the room, we had no internet in the bedroom, which made things even more frustrating. For something labeled as a family room, it did not meet even basic expectations. What made it worse was the unprofessionalism at reception. When I reported these issues, the staff member was not only unhelpful but also rude and unethical, offering no resolution or even acknowledgment of the problem. This was an incredibly dissatisfying experience, and I can’t recommend this place to anyone until they clean up both their rooms and their attitude.

Besides this being the most relaxing low activity vacation I’ve ever been on you must go to the Palma mud spa. My therapist Julia was super accommodating to me being 2 months pregnant and gave me the best body wrap and facial I’ve ever had. It left my skin feeling super soft and she even ran my hot shower for me. Definitely recommend 10/10.

The Guide Jorge is excellent! He took us to s night tour! And we could e enjoy incredible and amazing animals!! Was great! And highly recommended!!

The thermal pools, the convenience of the adventure outfitters, the location to volcano and such helpful staff.

The hotel definetly shows that is not aging well, doesn't seem that management is considering doing maintenance soon, the room looks 80's - specially the bathroom at the Lake suites, and not well maintained. Customer sevice is fine and food is average. Rooms need to be taken care of as you see mold in the ceiling and walls, the sink and jacuzzi are broken, the main restaurant's chairs are damaged and the floor hasn't seen a mop in a while. It's sad because it has potential to be a nice resort. The spa is old but massages are good. Won't come back, unless remodeled.
