The only positive thing about this hotel is the location. There are many restaurants and stores nearby, which made things convenient. Unfortunately, convenience alone does not make up for the poor cleanliness and maintenance issues we experienced during our stay.

We recently stayed at the Comfort Inn South Springfield and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The room was not clean upon arrival. The sheets were so stained and discolored that it was hard to tell whether they were supposed to be white or yellow. The bathtub had a huge hole in it that had been covered with an extremely strong piece of tape. While showering, you could still feel the hole underneath the tape when standing in the tub. Honestly, it made us wonder why the room had not simply been closed off until the bathroom could be properly repaired. The shower itself also made loud noises both when turned on and while running. There were spiders on the walls and even on the drapes, which added to the uncomfortable feeling of the room. The ice machine area was also concerning, with visible mold on and around the machine. It made us question how often that area is actually cleaned and maintained. To make matters worse, at checkout we were told they could not provide us with a receipt because we booked through a third party. We have stayed at multiple other hotels booked the same way during this trip and had no issue receiving receipts from those properties.

Staff was very friendly.

Seems dated, only one elevator and beds uncomfortable.
