Courtyard by Marriott Charleston Historic District

The valet staff, especially Ari B, were awesome! They told us what to do and where to go. They were awesome with a car issue also. Ari definitely made our trip the best!!!!

We noticed the bathroom floor was not cleaned well as there was hair in the corner of the bathroom floor, as well as in the shower. Also, the metal strip in the shower flooring was very noisy-post showering. The refrigerator made a humming noise all night.

My family and I stayed for one night as we were driving back from FL. We love Charleston and wanted to see the city again so we booked 2 rooms for the night. We arrived early and didn't anticipate the rooms being ready. Thankfully valet was available and we could leave our luggage and venture out. Check in was supposed to be at 4 pm, however we didn't have our rooms available until 530 pm. It was a bit of headache since we couldn't freshen up. However the front desk clerk (I don't know her name) gave us water and was very apologetic. When we finally checked in, she did give us a 2 pm check out and a free bottle of wine, which were both greatly appreciated. The rooms not being available at 4 were unfortunate but not enough to keep us away whenever we do come back to visit. Location is fantastic to King Street which is why we chose this hotel to begin with. Overall, would recommend!

All the staff members at Marriott Courtyard Charleston were very welcoming the moment we walked inside. The front desk staff members were very nice, helpful and welcoming they even gave my son a teddy bear! The moment we pulled up at the hotel we were immediately greeted and approached right away by the helpful valet workers (Gabriel White and Hugh Browning). They both gave me great advices and recommendations on things to do downtown for the week! Great experience and great staff members at the Marriott Courtyard Charleston. Well deserved 5 starts!

First night after I checked in, I found a cockroach on my bed. It went away when I was looking for something to smash it. But then it showed up in my bedside the next morning. After I complained to the front desk, they said they will call in pest control to spray the whole room. Second morning when I woke up and went to the shower, there’s another live cockroach waiting for me there. This night when I was working in the room, another live one just crawl out under the sofa no more than 3 feet away. Finally I had enough and only then they moved me to a new room. NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN!

Technical problems occurred with the door lock and my keys twice needed to be reset. The staff were very personable and helpful.

We had a lovely experience at the Courtyard Charleston in the historic district. What made this trip so memorable is the valet, Ari B. He always greeted us joyfully, remembering our names and asking about our day. My son had pointed out a keychain that Ari had of South Carolina, mentioning he had one from another state. On our last day, Ari gifted the keychain to my son with a very sweet, thoughtful note. My son lit up with excitement that someone would do such a nice gesture. We cannot thank him enough for making our visit incredibly memorable.

Enjoyed the stay at the Courtyard. Great location and short walk to King. Alex and Adam took car of my vehicle while staying at the Courtyard. Great customer service Alex!!

I am really highly disappointed by my experience in this property of Marriott. The shower curtain in our room had a disgusting stain. The reception staff was awesome until tonight(btw I’m still at the hotel)where they basically ignored us. The water in the provided water receptacles was empty, the valet party guy was sitting rudely in front of the water canisters watching whatever on his phone. Breakfast was horrendous, waiter dropped toast we ordered and didn’t even offer to replace it, and it was highly overpriced. AC is not working properly. It’s not a cheap property and by not providing proper even minimal service here, I’m not sure what they are trying to prove.
