I was working in the area, this place was perfect. Great little find,

Small room, but bed was comfortable and had everything I needed.

Great food and friendly helpful staff, clean room, nice shower. Breakfast was next level

There was no parking and the food order was delayed by an hour - but it was worth the wait

The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was yum and great value for money (£9.95 for good quality full English which was essentially all you can eat!). The bathroom was modern although the shower was little small. The room was fine, also small, but did the job. The mattress was comfy for us (firm and springy).

There was no bath mat, and so the floor got very wet, we had to ask for a hand towel which was ok, but I thought a bathmat would be a standard thing. We were there on one of the hottest days of the year and the room was extremely stuffy and hot which is not an easy fix / no fault of the Anchor, however the small fan provided did absolutely nothing and it was an uncomfortable nights sleep. My small handheld fan I use for public transport did a better job at keeping me cool so I would recommend new fans! The room was clean on the surface but when I dropped my phone down the side of the bed and when I picked it up it was covered in dust. Also a water glass in the bathroom was sticky/dusty and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. Rest of the room was fine though.

Excellent small country hotel with good facilities

Very accommodating and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Good food.

Lift needs repairing.
