I left Sunday morning before breakfast & I was delighted to be given a pack-breakfast. Bacon roll, small pastries & Juice.

Everything quit comfortable

Room was very modern and bathroom exceptional. Good Parking Fine Dining from a well designed menu.

I had phoned the week prior to my visit to say I would possibly be arriving a little after 6.00pm - I arrived at 6.10pm. There was no-one there and had I not had a relative with me, I could not have obtained the key which was in a key box with very small numbers for the code which I could not see. The lift was switched off and someone had to come to turn it on as I could not get myself & my luggage up to the room otherwise. I was informed that I had been upgraded to an executive room but it was very basic with only 1 bedside light missing and the bathroom bin had not been emptied. and there was no reasonable view from the window. When I phoned I asked about breakfast & was informed a continental breakfast could be provided. Some meat and cheese was left in the room in a cardboard box and was already 'swetting' on the Sunday evening and would have caused a possible stomach problem if eaten on the Monday - meat cannot be left overnight without being refrigerated. There is no member of staff in the hotel overnight & this is a fire hazard & also a problem for solo travellers who might have a medical emergency in the night & could not get to open the main doors to the building. The night porter was 1 hour away from the building and were there a fire (I was visiting someone in hospital who had been in a fire) there would be no Fire Marshall with a list of the occupants of the building to give to the Fire Brigade. I was informed by phone on the Sunday that I could be reimbursed but I had nowhere else to go at that time on a Sunday night and my relative had to leave & was not from the area. The manager has suggested that I had not phoned in advance and this is a lie - I did phone. I would never stay there again.
