There was debris from past guest under the cabinet, easily seen when sitting on the chair. Water smells very strongly of chlorine. Despite grey groute shower needed good clean. Wrong bed configuration and told it’s an upgrade, it’s not an upgrade if you don’t have the room we booked. Non apologetic. TV remote didn’t work clearly needed new batteries, phoned and said this but engineer came without batteries.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Every staff member we interacted with was incredibly friendly and helpful. Ahead of our arrival, I requested an extra bed for a child and a bright room; they delivered perfectly with a beautiful, spacious room on the 8th floor with high ceilings and tons of natural light. The beds were very comfortable, and the room had all the amenities you could need - fridge, safe, coffee machine, slippers, robes. We loved the eco-friendly option to decline room cleaning in exchange for a free drink voucher. Plus, when we purchased breakfast, we received another complimentary drink! Breakfast was excellent - a great combination of a buffet and à la carte options. Finally, the location couldn't be better. It’s just a few steps from the airport tram stop and an easy 15 minute walk to Old Town and the castle.

One very small thing - there was no hair conditioner and soap options could have been better.

The property is well located in the centre of Edinburgh and is within walking distance of attractions, shopping and the public transport network. The interior is stylish and comfortable and the staff absolutely charming and happy to help. In a city where hotel accommodation is increasingly pricey (due to the year round interest from tourism and business), this hotel is value for money! They also offer a great spread for breakfast too!

Nothing to dislike. If I was going to offer any feedback here it would be for a bit more 'in-room' welcome tray experience. There is a paid bar with snacks but would have been nice to have a little bit extra (biscuits etc).

Absolutely brilliant hotel with fantastic staff. Great location and our club deluxe room was lovely. The layout is somewhat challenging but I’ll leave that as a surprise for you! The breakfast was superb with lots of choices and friendly and attentive staff. The porridge was delicious. Dara was superb and very attentive helping us with the initial booking. Billy and Niamh were tip top on reception. We got a couple of cocktails for my wife’s birthday and the Bloody Mary was to die for! We also got a couple of free drinks by forgoing our daily room tidy! Doesn’t take much to bribe me! Chez Mal was nice with great staff. Probably my only niggle was the background music therein. Non descriptive lift music designed to make you leave! I did ask for Hits of the 70s but it was not within their purview! Overall a lovely stay, highly recommended and we will be back!

Did not expect so many stairs! Ramps for luggage would be helpful. The elevator only goes to odd number floors. The manager was rude

Went for afternoon tea with my mum & sister for a Mother’s Day treat. Food was great, staff (Rohan & Mac) were brilliant & the place was beautiful inside! Rohan even tried to help my mum out by giving her a few chair options as she has a bad back. Thank you for having us!
