Wingate by Wyndham JFK Airport/Far Rockaway

Location was a 4 min walk to the train. No thrills, we stayed for one night. The room had a lingering bleach smell.

We booked the hotel online. Had no idea it was located in the hood. Blaring music everywhere due to some outdoor concert. Attendant wouldn’t allow us to cancel due to the extremely loud music. We couldn’t stay and just lost our money. Stay away from this crappy place. Horrific and will never return here

The room overall was not large but still good enough for a very quick stay. I would not recommend a stay longer than 2 days, as the area is littered with pushy homeless people, loud music around the corner through late hours and a general sense of little safety. The parking consited of 15 spots, first come and first serve, and the hotel makes it clear they are not responsible for any break-ins, theft or damage to your car or property, which is not unusual for a hotel to state about free parking but this truly seems to be a concern in this area. Clean rooms, but overall not the best area for a hotel for a Whyndam owned hotel. It's a drastic difference for the community not more than 5 minutes northeast of it.

This hotel should be sold. Absolutely horrible.

No Parking! My room was never cleaned for my entire stay. I had to ask for towels and wash clothes daily. There were Used bandaids on the bathroom floor (It's still there under the sink) My Room was very small. The staff was great except for the lady who went up to check my room as I was checking out in order to get my deposit back. Surely they didn't check the room before I gave my deposit or else they would have caught the used Bandaids. I would not have been bothered by the deposit room check except for the fact that the people in front of me were just handed their deposit envelope without a spot check of their room. I'm not sure what measures are used to determine "who's " room would be checked and "who's " wouldn't but they may need to revisit this process, someone may become offended by this practice. I Believe we can't just have all negative without some positive, The bed was nice! Also my key had to be reactivated each day, this is terrible for someone who's on the 3rd floor and had to go to the bathroom. I had to deactivate my Bladder until the key could be reactivated. The bed was nice tho'

This property should be sold. Its in the worst part of town. I felt Unsafe, and checked out early to find someplace safe. Hotel front desk staff was unfriendly. Parking was a joke plus signs are up stating park at your own risk in the 10 spots parking lot. My room had hair still in the tub from another person. I was so upset. I'll never go back. Nor did I get my money back.

Comfortable bed

The hotel shouldn't be called a JFK Hotel, it's way too far from JFK. The public is been deceived by calling the hotel a jfk hotel. It's almost 30 minutes drive from jfk and location is horrible and frightening
