Wingate by Wyndham JFK Airport/Far Rockaway

Breakfast and many other amenities were not ready at this hotel during my stay. The location is not very convenient. It was close to USD100 in transport to the hotel and the hotels airport shuttle was permanently unavailable.

Location is pretty rough, felt a bit unsafe. Takes almost 30 minutes during the day to get to the airport and is not the most convenient for the price. They are also doing some false advertising as they do not provide a free shuttle service to the airport. Lastly, the room smelled heavily of bleach so is not a great fit for anyone sensitive to smells.

The place is very clean as well as room. Room was small The person that checked me in was rude. Her customer service was trash.

This hotel advertises free airport shuttle, but they don't have one. This hotel is 25-30 minutes from jfk. This hotel is in an sketchy neighborhood and you won't be able to cancel. The room is almost clean, but the bed was comfortable.

Not the cleanest

Based off some of the reviews I read prior, I think much like the neighborhood of Far Rockaway this hotel has received an unfair, bad rep. I was pleasantly surprised. It was clean, comfortable and the staff was courteous. Parking was a breeze , there are some spots on site, but we opted for street parking 2 blocks away. Breakfast was great: Juice, breakfast sandwiches, pastries! More than other hotels have been recently providing. Just a few blocks from the Boardwalk and JFK airport. We didn't use it, but we saw a working shuttle. The woman who checked us in was awesome. She was professional, efficient and you could tell she was proud of the Wyndham brand. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

This is 20 minutes away from the airport. Airport should not be in the name of the hotel. They don’t have a shuttle, they cited COVID as the reason, but I didn’t see a single staff member wearing a mask so that’s a bogus excuse. Other hotels in the area have a shuttle that runs. There’s nowhere to park. Two Lyft drivers told us not go outside at night. Only one ice machine and it’s in the basement. There was only a thin blanket on the bed, like the kind that goes between the sheet and a comforter. No water bottles. The front desk guy didn’t know if the vending machine took cards, but it didn’t matter because they were broken when we tried to use them.

Everything was wrong.

Excellent experience....thankfully to all staff

No parking, congestion and dirty neighborhood.
