"Mandalay Bay and the W went above and beyond"

10.0

Review of Mandalay Bay & W Las Vegas I have been staying at Mandalay Bay for years, and now the W Las Vegas, and after what happened this trip I felt compelled to write a review because the staff showed a level of honesty and professionalism that truly impressed me. I was playing video poker at one of the bars and got distracted because people kept coming up to take pictures with my parrot Bella (she’s become somewhat of a regular around the property). In the middle of all the excitement I accidentally left $1,000 in the machine and walked away. A bartender noticed it, cashed out the ticket, and made sure it got to the high-limit room so it could be returned to me. Later that evening, it happened again when I got distracted talking to people and taking pictures with Bella. Once again, staff members noticed and came to find me to return the ticket. Over the course of the night multiple bartenders and security staff tracked me down and returned the money I had left behind. They absolutely did not have to do that. With thousands of people coming through a casino every day, it would have been very easy for someone to ignore it. Instead, they chose honesty and integrity and made sure it got back to me. Later in the evening two security officers even walked me back to my room just to make sure I got there safely after a long night. They were professional, kind, and clearly looking out for me as a guest. I travel often and stay in many hotels and casinos, but I have never experienced this level of honesty and care anywhere else. The bartenders and security team at Mandalay Bay and the W Las Vegas truly went above and beyond, and I am incredibly grateful for the way they looked out for me. This experience is exactly why I keep coming back here year after year. Thank you to the amazing staff who showed such integrity and kindness. It meant more than you know. — Kathleen

"Expensive at the end of strip"

6.0

Large hotel with everything under one roof. Further down the strip from all the main action. The property is a bit out dated but on an overall not bad. Rooms are big. This is an expensive hotel if you are budget minded. For the price of the room ( this is not a cheap motel ) I didn’t expect to be nickel and dimed for everything from water and coffee in the room ( monitored by sensors ) $16 for a coffee .. don’t make a mistake and touch any of the items .. it’s automatically added to your bill . $50 charge to use the refrigerator in the room for personal items! Everything very very overpriced ! The pool and beach area very beautiful. The season begins 3/14 so it wasn’t open during my visit. On an overall, the property offers lots to do casino, bar and entertainment. Just be prepared to be price gouged.

"Mandalay Bay"

10.0

Mandalay Bay was exactly as we expected - big, bright, stylish & well appointed casiono. Rooms were very big either overlooking the airport & pools or the Las Vegas Strip. So many different food & dining choices from simple like Subway to expensive like 5 star restaurants. 15min walk to Allegiant Stadium, 15min walk to Excalibur & Luxor (or take the free monorail). Check-in was simple. Staff all polite. Really enjoyed our stay.

"Missed the mark on this visit by a mile in many different ways."

4.0

I did not get my connecting room reservation in the wellness suites and things went down hill from there. I did the pre check in so i could just use the self directed kiosk to get my two connecting room keys and found out that they had only checked me into one of the connecting rooms. How do you miss that when checking someone in? it's all in the reservation. I had issues with check in, valet, housekeeping, room was not clean and we only asked them to clean the rooms one day out of the 7 we were there and they did not clean the floors or change the sheets on the bed. There was an odor in the room and I left smelling like that odor. Just seems like they don't think they all have to collectively pay attention to the details at this hotel. i don't think I would choose to stay there again.

"Vegas Glam at a Vegas Price — Brace Your Wallet"

8.0

Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Las Vegas Mandalay Bay is exactly what you expect from a big Strip resort — flashy, expansive, and dripping in Vegas energy. The rooms are genuinely large and well-appointed, the beds comfortable, and all the amenities you'd want are present and accounted for. The casino floor delivers that classic over-the-top spectacle that Las Vegas does better than anywhere in the world. The Catch: Everything comes at a price — and that price is steep. Then steeper again. A drink, a snack, parking, a resort fee, a bottle of water — it all adds up at a pace that would make your eyes water. This isn't unique to Mandalay Bay, but even by Strip standards it's noticeable. You'll need to budget generously just to exist here comfortably. If you're splashing out for a big Vegas experience and cost isn't a concern, Mandalay Bay delivers the goods. But if you're watching your spend, the inflated pricing on virtually everything can take the shine off an otherwise impressive property. Great resort — just go in with your eyes open and your wallet well padded.

"Wonderful stay at Mandalay bay"

10.0

Just returned from a five night stay at the Mandalay bay was a little concerned about some of the reviews that have been posted recently but was in for a surprise. We arrived at nearly midnight and there was a slight wait for check in approximately another six groups but check in was quick straight up to the room which was on the 13th floor overlooking the airport. Nice large room with plenty of space. The bed was extremely comfy ended up sleeping through till done 1000 which is completely abnormal for me. Quick trip to downtown strip to return the hire car. Found the deuce bus and came back via the deuce bus. Spent whole day in the mndalay and still didn't get to see it all. It really is bigger than it looks. Amazing food in the Mexican with great service.

"Stay away, stay far, far away from this place."

2.0

Joined my husband here for his business trip. We had a 2-night stay booked through "The Edit" by Chase Sapphire Reserve. Upon arrival at the hotel lobby at 2pm, we were greeted by a long line at the check-in desk that spun around the lobby a number of times. We waited about 1hr 5minutes to be checked in. This is hardly a luxury experience after our 5-hr flight and 3-hr delay at our departure airport. No one walked around offering complimentary water or assuring us that they are doing everything they can to expedite the check-in. Zero interest. I counted 20 check-in desks, but only 4 were staffed during their peak Friday afternoon check-in time. There were numerous self check-in kiosks available, but no one was using them. I figured I'd remain on the line while my husband gave it a shot. The MGM Resorts self check-in was unable to check us in due to our reservation not being found. Strange, as I was looking at my confirmation e-mail right there. You can try to find your reservation by your last name and check-in/check-out dates, or your confirmation number. None of them worked. The $50 daily "resort fee" seemed like thievery, given that all of their pools were closed for the winter season with the exception of one small pool, where every guest seemed to congregate. We were not able to find a single chair to sit in. People had towels spread across the concrete pathways and the whole scene was reminiscent of some third world country where no one has ever been to a pool before. We left after a few minutes. Overall, I would not recommend this "resort" under any circumstances.

"Girls trip stay with 8 women"

10.0

We arrived on Friday morning at 10 am and they told us our rooms were available. Super easy check in process and very accommodating. The rooms are large, spacious and very clean. The casinos are great, restaurants are plentiful and drinks are everywhere! We had a fantastic trip!

"Cold pools. Shady secret charges"

2.0

I would not recommend this hotel. We specifically chose it for the wave pool and lazy river, but both were a complete disappointment. The lazy river was ice cold—so much so that my children couldn’t even go in. It was just uncomfortable. As for the wave pool, it was technically “on,” but the waves were minimal and didn’t function like a true wave pool. It was nothing like the ones we’ve experienced at other resorts. There were also no umbrellas available by the pool unless you paid over $100 to rent one, and no poolside service was offered unless you booked a cabana or reserved seating. We also never received a final bill at checkout. I had to call to request it, and when it finally came, we were incorrectly charged $25 for a bottle of water and $16 for coffee—none of which we ever touched. When I called the front desk, they said it would take a week to investigate. They offered no help and didn’t plan to follow up—we were told we would have to call them back to find out what was decided. There were also no umbrellas available by the pool unless you paid over $100 to rent one, and no poolside service was offered unless you booked a cabana or reserved seating. For a hotel that’s part of the MGM Resorts group, this kind of overcharging feels intentional—and likely widespread. I wouldn’t be surprised if a class action lawsuit eventually comes from practices like these. Even the MGM app didn’t show our receipt—I had to call and have it emailed manually. Overall, this stay was frustrating, overpriced, and full of red flags. I would not come back.

"Bad bartender"

2.0

One bar callRhythm and Riffs lounge south side . One bartender there with a ponytail and a heavy accent kept telling us that if we don't pay play we won't get a drink because of a red light on the computer we kept playing but he kept saying the red lights on no drinks very rude will not come there to Mandalay Bay ever again due to this Factor. I played at many casinos and never had this told to me before
