Mandalay Bay Resort And Casino

We have stayed at Mandalay Bay many years ago. Beautiful hotel. However, this trip we found many staff unfriendly and unhelpful, from the taxi stand to front desk, and the lack of concierge services left no one to ask for help or directions. Our room (4119) had an annoying waxing/waning hum the entire time. $16 to buy a coffee kit for in-room coffee!!! Is that the new hotel standard is Las Vegas? We’ve traveled a lot in 50 years and never had to pay for coffee maker kit in the room! Kerry and Daniel in the Valet service were exceptions-very kind and helpful with our car and an issue we had with our ticket and charge due to an error in the chaos of our arrival. No directional signs at all for House of Blues, which is hard to see across the casino if you come off the elevators from your room. No same-day reservations for restaurants, though we had the same issue at the Bellagio.

Poor reception and downhill from there. No good vibe at all and not worth the visit. Booked a king room only to be told they didn’t have one and offered a double. When I questioned that a manager was called in and magically a king room was found. Very poor customer service and being a travel advisor I will never recommend this hotel to clients Extremely disappointed

The self serve kiosk check in enabled us to skip the line. Being a product of public schools, I was too stupid to work it properly and directions were lacking. Something that became a theme to our trip. Fortunately some folks with previous experience saw the struggle and helped. Room was nice. Elevators fast, great water pressure. Hate the snack and refrigerator scam.

Completely a nickel and dime operation. Don’t even give you free pods for the coffee machine in your room. So unpleasant

Mandalay is always our choice in Vegas. Anything you could want is there. On this trip I was very surprised when Forina (working in the Market ) took my ID and realized it was my 70th Birthday. She wished me a happy day and gave me a $40 voucher for the Skyfall Lounge. What a nice gesture. That's what it's like at Mandalay.

Mandalay Bay has nice rooms but this is where it all stops. What I'm about to say is all on camera. I am a MGM Pear member/Veteran. There is no money to make in slots for sure, (small pay offs). The Cocktail Waitresses are very rude and only serve whom they want to serve. Example: One cocktail waitress walked away from me when I called her. I thought she didn't hear me the machines are very loud. So I tapped her on the shoulder very,,, very lightly. She spun around and screamed louder than the machines. DON'T TOUCH ME!! DON'T TOUCH ME!!! I stepped back and the lady next to me got scared. I told the Cocktail Waitress I want your manager here now. So she got the police and filed an assault charge on me, ("O" Yes I'm Not exaggerating). I told the police look at the cameras I'm playing the he said she said game. They took me to the security office where there are 2 jail cells. They asked me to go into 1 cell. I said this is where I draw the line, I'm Not Going Into Any Cell. So they brought in larger police officers, like it was going to intimidate me. Well it didn't and I didn't enter any jail cell. Remember this is still at the casino. 45 minutes later the local police enter the office, I figure I would be stereotyped and put in jail for no reason. The cop look at me hard like I was a criminal after viewing the tapes. He said Im not going to arrest you then asked his partner if he agrees. I was cut loose like I was given a second chance, unbelievable. The casino felt bad (NOT) and gave me a $50.00 gift certificate to eat anywhere in the casino. First off you can't anywhere in Mandalay Bay for $50.00 with your fiancee. The next day the casino gave another $100.00 gift certificate, ("O" it get's better). Do not go the Seafood restaurant next to the steak restaurant. It took them 45 minutes to cook the steak. The chief brought the meal and said these are special mash potatoes ( I made them specially for you). This is code for DO NOT EAT THE MASH POTATOES ( if you get my hint). I ate 3 or 4 pieces of the steak my fiancee refused to eat any of the steak. Her sushi was cold seafood, She's Thai and knows what p[roper sushi taste like she prepare shush herself. There's only 1 good restaurant in Mandalay Bay it straight across from the seafood restaurant. DO NOT EAT AT THE SEAFOOD RESTAURANT, PERIOD!!! I will never go back to Mandalay Bay. I go to Vegas every other month Heed my warning if your good folks. K.M.A. Mandalay Bay.

Very good room, quiet - which is vital from my standpoint- good facilities. My only negative is the cost which I thought was out of hand - to the point where I may have to reconsider coming again next year. $9 for a tube of toothpaste in your gift shop is obscene - plus the markup on Starbucks coffee is crazy. Also thought the room price was a bit high.

Nice hotel & Casino but bad location if you want to be experience Vegas. Staff everywhere very friendly and helpful. Casino very clean, not crowded, and nice. Hotel room a little dated, but clean. Beds way too soft. NO COMP COFFEE.. All restaurants and even coffee overpriced., but typical for Vegas. Good selection of restaurants to choose from in the hotel.. Very close to airport, you can watch the runway, but noise wasn’t bad..

I constantly had to go through the front desk to get a copy of my room key to access my room. The door in my room was difficult to open, scraping the top-right corner of the frame. The heating system didn't come on till late at night, around 9-10 pm, even though I tried to set the temperature to a higher temperature (80) before it would kick on. The television lacked the ability to stream channels. The windows were very drafty.

Location was perfect. The atmosphere was exciting and busy. The suite was beautiful. No issues with noise.
