Les Chambres

Lovely property. Central location very walkable for the town. Parking on property. Good water, pressure in the showers and very comfortable beds. A small bottle of champagne to enjoy! The best breakfast of all the bed-and-breakfast we stayed at. We had eggs Florentine. We definitely stay here again.

This place is an absolute gem. You arrive from a small car park and enter through a gate that passes up a hedge corridor and at the end of this corridor you are greeted by the beautiful architecture of the old Cape Dutch which nestles in a beautiful rose garden. We then entered the main building which is so welcoming, and tahdah, you have arrived. The team were so friendly and helpful and we felt at home straight away. Then on to our room that was very generously proportioned with lovely little touches: who doesn’t fancy trying the local sparkling dram: blooming delicious. Even if you don’t like nougat, try it: best I’ve ever tasted! As it was the South African winter, we then went back to the main house and settled down by one of the fires and had a glass of local rosé. This was helped along with a delicious charcuterie board which I absolutely recommend. The property is full of charm and character and the staff were so helpful. This was a short stop but with the main strip about 2-3 minutes away, and the stunning mountains all around, we have already booked to go back, and we can’t wait. 5 stars, no argument!!

The minute we walked through the gate into the rose garden with the beautiful Cape Dutch house in front of us, with the stunning mountainous backdrop we knew we were going to love it here. We were instantly calmed. And then came the wonderful and warm welcome from Peter and Brad, the managers, who met us at the top of the stairs and whisked us into the opulent reception. It was a home from home, albeit a rather more beautiful one. Our gorgeous room was located in the courtyard with a pool and garden view. Very spacious with everything we could want including fluffy hot water bottles for the winter nights (we didn't need them as the aircon unit also heated the room and the staff had already put it on for our arrival so we were lovely and toasty). And with them was a little tasty treat each of yummy French Nougat. We settled in very quickly and were shown the very well stocked honesty bar in the main house, the quaint dining room where we had breakfast and the 'heated' pool area. The guesthouse is so close to the main high street, which is what we wanted, and it's literally a few mins walk. We felt super safe and ventured into town for a drink and a wander. Peter had recommended a lovely casual restaurant for our first night as we were tired from travelling. Breakfast is another fabulous experience with so much choice from the buffet and then hot items to order if you still have room! And it was all included in the price. We sat in the main restaurant area but there is also a lovely conservatory style section which is all glass and open in warm weather but closed and cosy in the winter months whilst still being super bright and overlooking an ornamental pond. The staff at breakfast and throughout were so friendly, helpful and professional - they couldn't do enough! We absolutely loved our stay and have already booked for later this year to stay longer. Can highly recommend :-)

This guest house is a real gem. We had a fabulous stay. The house is centrally located in Franschhoek, walking distance from restaurants and shops. The house is beautifully decorated, very romantic and the hosts and staff are very kind and attentive. The breakfast was the best breakfast we had during our 3 week trip in South Africa. We would absolutely like to come back in the summer time to see the beautiful roses in the rose garden and use the pool.

We had the absolute best experience here. Peter and Bradley were so helpful. They greeted us when we arrived and made sure that we had everything situated. They were warm and welcoming. Our room was cozy and very clean. The location was an easy walk to downtown. The breakfast and especially the muffins were amazing! Despite the weather being rainy and cold, the hosts made sure that all the guests had umbrellas and recommended activities. We highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back.

We had a truly wonderful stay in Franschhoek! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The service was especially outstanding — Peter was incredibly helpful and welcoming, and the person who served us breakfast was always smiling and ready to assist with anything we needed. That level of warmth made a big difference. The facilities were excellent. Our room was spacious, the bed was extremely comfortable, and everything was spotless. The location is also perfect — right in the heart of Franschhoek, within walking distance of all the charming shops, restaurants, and galleries the town has to offer. You can easily explore everything on foot. Franschhoek itself is absolutely lovely, full of character and beauty. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

I had a wonderful stay at Les Chambres. The hosts are magnificent and made me feel welcome over the three days I was there. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The location is ideal to walk to most restaurants and the wine tram. The breakfast was good and the staff very attentive. I strongly recommend.

We slept at the guesthouse for two nights and was pleasantly surprised. It was an amazing stay. Very clean and a lot of attention to detail. The hosts where super and What a breakfast, WOW!!!! A one-minute safe walk to the main road close to all the activities. We walked to the Wine Tram station, had a wonderful day tasting wine and walked back to the guesthouse. I will definitely visit this beautiful guesthouse again. Johan du Preez

The ideal place to start a journey along the Garden Route in South Africa. An exceptionally beautiful and peacefully located guest house, with charming hosts and a perfect location for the Wine Tram and safely reaching restaurants on foot. Thanks to the stylish decor and the airy, cheerful floral paintings of the host, it is truly a place that instantly makes you feel comfortable and relaxed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Les Chambres. The welcome was warm and the surroundings stunning. Breakfast in elegant surroundings was delicious. Central location was also a plus. thank you for looking after us Peter, Bradley and excellent team.
