Hotel Ade

Para Bacalar siempre elegimos el Hotel Ade, es cómodo, el personal muy amable, la ubicación es muy cerca a la Laguna a pie y con un excelente precio. Sin duda la mejor opción

After a long trip we arrived, we had to pay cash first before we where aloud to check in. we didn’t had any cash with us so we had to walk 15 minutes for an ATM. After we came back from the ATM the manager told us we can pay extra for an upgrade, after refusing we got the upgrade anyway.? Breakfast is very very basic and not fresh. Deepfried vegetables and toast as hard as rock. There is a sign on the table: minimum suggested tip, 20$ per person. The manager is constantly checking what you are up to and what your plans are, they want to make money with their tours. Annoying and rude staff.

The layout around the pool, where breakfast was served as well, was unique and inviting. They were super pushy about having to tip the staff a certain amount for serving breakfast. There were signs on every table about this. It wasn't possible to leave the key at the reception for whilst going swimming in the laguna, as the guy said he couldn't promise he's be there later on.

We checked in and then walked out, booking another hotel. It is not as described, with no restaurant, breakfast only between 9 and 10am, a very unpleasant looking pool, poor quality rooms and parking on broken ground to the side. Stay well clear.

The staff was great -- very personable and responsive. The atmosphere of the place was terrific -- friendly clientele but private, respectful.The location was perfect -- the lake is just a couple of blocks down.

The set-up was a bit odd -- shower in the room, but toilet shared across the pool deck. The room was tiny! But it was set up well enough. I ended up finding it charming -- a feeling I didn't have when I first entered the room.

The friendly staff and the laidback vibe at the hotel is amazing! It's a small and charming hotel at a perfect location: near the laguna and the city centre. The rooms are comfy and the breakfast ommeletes are delicious!
