Courtyard by Marriott Beaumont

This property has suffered water damage at some point and the mildew and moisture was obvious in the hallway and rooms. Initially i thought it was just one room 308 but I moved my room to 320 something and despite the AC being set at 66 degrees the mildew was smell was reprehensible and resulted in me getting a migraine due to sinus inflammation. I slept off and on with a shirt over my face until daylight and immediately checked out of the property. I expressed my disappointment and got a blank stare from the person at the desk. The billing was wrong, and in reality everything was far beneath expectations for a courtyard by Marriott. As a lifetime TE this was an historical miss for a property. Okay rant over, never again.

A room with a king size bed was reserved and prepaid. Upon arrival, I was informed that that was not available and was switched to a double queen. After two attempts to get into my room, I went back downstairs again and asked for a different room with keys that actually worked. Getting into the room, one of the beds had some type of dirt all over the top, only one towel, no bathmat, and no lotion in the bathroom. There was mold on the wall and the toilet area, there were places in the floor, where you could fill the subfloor, giving away underneath the carpet, the toilet was not properly attached to the floor , and the hot water came and went throughout the entire shower. The entire hallway room smelled like a musty mold had been there for quite some time. The only reason I decided to stay after all of this was simply because I was tired and did not want to have to pay for something at another hotel. A refund should be in line without question.

I love the hotel

Worst marriott i have ever stayed at. To put that in perspective, i have stayed in Marriotts 60 nights already in 2024. There was mold in the room, there was termites in the room, the floor was messed up and looked like they had just put new carpet over it, the whole place smelled like smoke. Absolutely disgusting. Please see the photos attached to back up my claims.

I would not stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly but a lot of things that just weren’t great. The room had a funky smell, no hot water, dead bugs on the sofa bed mattress, elevator was broken, no way to lock the balcony sliding door, and overall just seemed very sketchy and not well maintained.

If you’ve read the recent reviews, all issues still apply. The ice machines on the 2nd and 3rd floors still don’t work. The pool is not open. Everything is old and dated. The whole place smelled like mildew. We’ve been staying at Marriott hotels regularly for almost 30 years. This hotel is definitely not up to Marriott standards.

The Courtyard by Marriott in Beaumont, TX at 2275 I-10S is without a doubt the worst hotel my wife and I have ever stayed in. The carpets on the second and third floors were both stained and also had bleach splotches. The shower in the bathroom had both mildew and some sort of nastiness on the glass in the form of what looked like splatters. The exhaust fan was covered in dust. There were several stains in our room including on the couch and what looked like a huge black ink stain on the floor. The ice machines on both the 3rd and 2nd floors were broken. I tried to speak to the General manager, Roy, when we left at 8:36 but surprise, surprise Roy wasn't at work yet. I spoke to the woman who was working the front desk about the state of the hotel but she was more interested in correcting the fact that I thought housekeeping was responsible for taking care of mildew and dust in the bathroom when in actuality it was maintenance. The entire time I spoke with her she had a scowl on her face. One bright spot was Larissa in the Bistro. She was great. So if you are unfortunate enough to have to stay at this hotel, go see Larissa and be sure and drink a lot so you can tolerate everything else about it.

We wanted to break up the trip home by stopping for one night, so we tried to find a place halfway that had a pool the kids could swim in. This was a disappointment. The bed was a bowl. The pool was down for repairs. The espresso machine in the lobby was broken. The premade coffee looked like dirty water. The moldy wallpaper was peeling off the walls. Overall, not a great experience for our family.
