Courtyard Chicago St. Charles

Thiiiiiiiis was ... not a delightful stay. We stay in a lot of hotels and my husband travels often each month for business and stays in Marriotts. Here is what we experienced: several inches of rust in shower, pinkish mold along edge of tub, very very very stained grout in bathroom, many areas of stained bathroom wallpaper, horrendous lighting (so so dreary and very difficult to apply light makeup), some crusty spots on carpet, no extra blanket in room and when we asked at 9pm for an extra, they were out and a call to the front desk was never answered. There were other things but my list above pertained to our room and should be known when considering this hotel. I would not stay here again.

Excellent check-in service and instruction. Room was clean and comfortable. It's a little worn, the bathtub could stand a refinishing, and the seal around my door into the hall was such that I could see into the hall. But very comfortable, convenient, and I would stay here again.

Pool was warm.

First room had loud fridge and had to be moved. Moved to another room and bathroom door did not close (6 inches) and was above outside exhaust fans. Looks like we were assigned rooms that were seldom used and of poor quality. Why should I use Booking if assigned crappy rooms? Never had a problem before using Booking but not sure to use in the future, might as well just make a reservation through a quality hotel.

Very out dated. Rehab is needed here. Musty smells fixtures in disrepair and need updated tub was rusty and bed was stiff and springs made noises. Barking dogs in halls and kids running in the hallway

Air conditioner in room stopped working. Front desk attendant did not care about our needs. Maybe she was overwhelmed bc i overheard other customers with the same issue all she said was we can comp breakfast. No! Did not eat breakfast it was uncomfortable & hot in the room. #333

It was nice. The front desk staff were very nice. Breakfast staff were very nice.

Having drinks in the lobby at a table in the back and the bartender, whom we never saw at the bar, came over and told us to pour out our drinks and buy them from her! Ummm…no! Didn’t ask just said that is what we needed to do. Also, when I checked in I was told I had bought the breakfast package with my rooms(2), Booking.com reservation confirmed that. Then I get a bill for $112 for 4 breakfasts!!!!
