Courtyard by Marriott Rocky Mount

I reserved a room at the Courtyard by Marriott Rocky Mount last September for a tournament this weekend (April 18-19). I called the hotel and reconfirmed the reservation the Wedneday before arrival and again the afternoon of. My room was also guaranteed with with a credit card. Imagine my surprise when my family and I arrived to check in to find that we didn’t have a room!. To be clear, we and at least five other guests in line with us had reservations—the clerk kindly even showed us the reservation in their system. Nobody seems to know how it happened, but the hotel was “oversold”, and we were left without a place to stay at night in a friendly but unfamiliar town. They did suggest another Marriott property “down the road” where we eventually stayed. Mind you, we’re talking an extra hundred miles round trip. Unfortunately I can’t comment on the quality of the rooms—-we never made it out of the lobby. Please, think long and hard before reserving here—-you’ll be in for a surprise.

There was no breakfast

It is an old worn down property.

Front desk staff was efficient. Close to eatery and shops. Room was nicely decorated.

The bathroom needed some updates (peeling in the tub).

Very nice hotel!

Staff was top notch! Everyone was soo nice especially the front desk ladies!

Price! Would have been better if they had offered breakfast

While a good value for a budget traveler, be prepared for an old hotel, including an old and visibly lumpy bed.
