The fact that the hotel is being used for homeless people
Not a pleasant place to stay. Noisy families woke us in the early hours and at 6am. The toilet didn't flush properly. The breakfast was average but they'd run out of bacon. The fruit juice was insipid and the coffee was awful. The receptionist, Faye was extremely friendly and helpful. I can't say what really put me off the place because it apparently contravenes TripAdvisor's policies and my previous reviews have been rejected, but it involved non-paying guests. What's the point if you can't give an honest review? Needless to say, I won't be visiting this hotel or any other in the chain again.
GBWe arrived and settled in. I have no complaints with parking and room facilities. But I would warn people going that the hotel is full of non paying guest. At breakfast time there was no bacon I requested the staff if we could have more bacon. The bacon was not replenished so after eating my breakfast they decided to top up with bacon but that soon disappeared with the amount of non paying guest. This hotel chain will be the last time I use it.

GBI booked a room here as I'm attending a social event in the adjoining restaurant - I thought I'd be extravagant and treat myself to a stay so I could have a drink, stay a bit later and not have to travel as far back and forth to the event the following day. I then received an e-mail to say due to an error in their booking system they've overbooked and will be cancelling my booking. [They most generously waived the cancellation fees - this just added insult to injury!] They suggested trying the next closest Holiday Inn, about 4 miles away which "appeared to have availability". Well so did this one when I booked, so I'm not going to risk it again. This alternative hotel cost more for the same package and would also involve me either driving or the expense of a taxi, and therefore negate the whole point of the hotel stay anyway. I don't live all that far away, I might as well just drive home. So if you want to stay here, it's a gamble as to whether you'll get a room or just think you do and have your plans spoiled!
GBThe dove hand soap, body wash and shampoo was a great touch. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my entire 2 day stay. The smell of the hotel when you first enter was very pleasant and the location was ideal for where I needed to go.
The room was a bit cold and I could feel/hear when the other guests opening and closed their doors as they're very heavy. The breakfast was very basic but perfect for myself. No options for dinner, you have to leave or get a delivery.
