Cozumel Hotel & Resort

Our second stay at this fabulous low-key resort. I looked around at others options but circled back to Cozumel Hotel when I realized it ticked all our boxes in a very cost-effective manner. I booked our couples stay through the website which had the best rates (compared to 3rd party sites) for the all-inclusive stay. We like to enjoy our cocktails so the all-inclusive makes sense for us. Honestly, we found the meals offered a plentiful selection, and always included plenty of freshly made options. We also like the walkability of the resort and venture into town when needed (or in our case, when the weather was less than cooperative). We are beach bums and really appreciate the awesome snorkeling right at the resort and plenty of beach loungers so saw very little "towel games". Saw a magnificent eagle ray one day! Our room was on the top floor with a high ceiling and faced the sea - fabulous! My key requirements for the room are - a comfortable bed, a great shower and sparkling clean. Cannot find a fault with our room (although the dresser was cheaply made and the drawers didn't function well). Tremendous, hard-working staff. Always smiling and fun - a special shout-out to Daniel at the lobby bar who makes the best margaritas! We've decided based on our fabulous stay, Cozumel is our go-to place for a chill holiday and Hotel Cozumel will be our lodging pick!!

Yesi was so great. She had us laughing through her whole Spanish lesson. Yesi set the bar very high for the rest of Cozumels entertainment to beat.

Another amazing vacation at Hotel Cozumel & Resort! 🌴 Every time we visit, they treat us like family. We always feel so welcomed and cared for, already looking forward to our next trip back!

This is a more simple resort (less luxurius rooms than other 4 stars for example) but it seems more affordable so it makes sense. The staff is all very hard working and kind, the beach area has really good snorkeling access and the water is cristal clear. We had bad luck with weather because a storm passed by and a lot of algae accumulated in the entrance to the ocean making it not ideal for swimming/snorkeling, but it's not really the hotel's fault. Though maybe they could have better management/ cleaning of the beach for those situations. On the other days the beach area was perfect (make sure you're aware that the sand area is man made). The view is gorgeous! The food is tasty, can get a bit repetitive/same seasonings but overall it's good quality! Again it's a more simple resort and I find it strange to see other commentors say that it's laughable to call it a resort or that the food is terrible. If you're easy going you will have a good time here, and there are easily accessible activities around the island too if you don't want to stay put. We visited some other beaches by taxi, and toured around on bikes. Walked to town and did a bit of shopping. Very fun and pleasant stay, thank you to the staff for keeping everyting so clean.

Service Hats off to Alex the concierge, he is a kind helpful and competent host and made us feel welcome and took care of our requests. The food service staff were efficient Valentin stood out with a friendly disposition on top of attentive service. The facility built in the 80’s has a nice vibe, showing its age, however it is clean and well maintained, although some rooms are better furnished than others. Good value for money. If you snorkel, you might see past all of the minor flaws of the facility and focus on the variety of aquatic life you can see, the best snorkeling I have experienced at any resort is at Cozumel Hotel and Resort. Bikes, these bikes function. They don’t look good, and some seats don’t adjust for your height. But they are good enough to visit San Miguel and rough enough be be available when we wanted them, because they are not perfectly maintained. Food We visited in November and the food was better on that trip. If you are not picky, you can find a satisfying meal at the buffet. Food is OK. With some nice offerings however on my last trip i thought the variety was notably better. On bright side there are many restaurants nearby. Entertainment Not remarkable, not my thing and bit too loud, is how I’d describe the evening entertainment. I wish they would bring in the entertainers from Woody’s! During the day the animation staff are energetic, happy and engaging. They work hard to engage people in activities around the pool. Pepe shines in this department, but I’d would rate the whole team as excellent. We are planing to return in the fall. If you like a solid three star hotel with, excellent snorkeling, passable food and above average staff you will be happy with Cozumel Hotel and Resort.
