Restaurant and bar staff are great.

Waiting for our room. We booked the executive suite and had to wait whilst they got our booking correct.

Location was good. Staff at breakfast were polite and friendly.

I stayed in a twin room for 2 nights and on arrival the room was dirty and scruffy. I have never stayed in a room with so much dust. It cannot have been cleaned for weeks. Windows were thick with black dirt. Headboards, remote, side cabinets and designated spot for tea/ coffee were covered in thick dust. In the bathroom it was very scruffy. Mirrors not clean and toothpaste on the walls from previous guest. Shower was dreadful also. I would describe my room as a 2 star room. Anyone staying at this hotel needs to be prepared for the loud banging of the doors. It’s ridiculous how loud they slam, it rattles the room.

Everything was fine except the decor, paintwork, etc. It really needed a good freshening up. A couple we met described it as “scruffy” . Food was good, staff were good, location was fine, garden needed tidying up near the dining room windows.

Very rundown and ran out of most food and drink Including tomato sauce!!!!!

Breakfast was very good. I’m gluten free so it was fabulous to see a clearly labelled area. Had a hot breakfast of bacon and egg. Room was airy, very clean and larger than expected for the three of us. Electric fans supplied which were welcomed because the heatwave. Staff were fantastic- happy and helpful.

Would have LOVED the gluten free bread to be available on the gf table. Could be boxed to protect coeliacs. I was short on time and hate having to bother people. After many years I have become bored of asking and would rather go without.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The grounds were beautiful.
