El Cordova Hotel on Coronado Island

El Cordova is a beautiful experience. It’s close to the beach, restaurants, and the staff is always so gracious. I recommend this place to everyone, In fact, we love this place so much we have stayed here several times now. Derrick always goes above and beyond to ensure our stay goes great. Customer service he gives is second to none.

I’m sad to say that my recent stay at El Cordova was not up to previous standards. The floors in my unit were absolutely filthy. You could see the dust piled on the baseboards, and my feet turned black just from walking around the unit. Housekeeping is only available upon request (for these rates I’d expect housekeeping daily, no excuses), and when I did request housekeeping they made my bed but forgot a top sheet. There were also spiders in my room and a roach. The rooms need updating, some of the tiles need replacing/repairs. My bathroom had a foul odor and the floors were not clean. Overall a very poor stay for the price. While the location is fantastic, the rooms are not clean and I felt dirty my entire stay. I will not be staying there in the future until major changes are made.

Cleanliness was an issue, there were cockroaches in the room. No lift and steep steps to take bags up to the room. Also Ac didn’t work

Our stay was terrible as the rooms were not clean, sheets looked dirty. There was no lift & the stairs to the rooms were dangerous. The Ac didn’t work but worst of all there were cockroaches in the room.

Such a beautiful, welcoming and gorgeous spot. Highly recommend. The attached restaurant was AMAZING! I would stay here every time.

We booked a suite at El Cordova Hotel for a one-night bachelorette party and it could not have been more perfect! From the moment we arrived, the energy was welcoming, warm, and festive. The charm of the courtyard, the unique historic vibe, and the location right in the heart of Coronado made it feel like a hidden gem. Huge shoutout to Jaden and James at the front desk — they went above and beyond to accommodate our group. From helping us coordinate parking, to bringing extra supplies to the room, and making sure the suite was perfect for the bride — they were truly the MVPs of the weekend. The suite itself was spacious and ideal for a girls’ weekend: comfy beds, a cute kitchenette, lots of room to get ready, and just enough vintage flair to match our “last spellbound soirée” theme. The staff even helped direct our guests to nearby cocktail spots and brunch locations! If you’re planning a girls’ trip, bachelorette, or just want to stay somewhere with heart and hospitality, El Cordova is it. Thank you for making this celebration one for the books. We’ll be back 💋

Broken GFI in bathroom so we had to blow dry our hair in the kitchen, bathtub had unstable bottom, grounds and hotel appearance less than desirable, no assistance up steep stairway for my 77 year old mother, front office attendant on phone, aging beach chairs, carpets in room had not been cleaned (ever?) so we had to wear our shoes in the room at all times.
