Rookery Hall Hotel

Rooms were very nice. Beds are very comfortable, overall very clean and well presented. The only thing that wasnt right was the air conditioning was on automatic and would not be set lower. The bedroom had the heating on all night which made it difficult to sleep. The food and breakfast was nice however the service was a little slow. We waited 30 minutes for eggs on toast. The spa however was lovely. My pedicure was amazing and Karen who took care of me for the hour was lovely and so friendly. The facilties here are great. I wanted to stay longer. Overall quite happy with the hotel but small things just could have made it better.

Amazing room and stay didn’t want for nothing, was starving about midnight and the reception gentleman got me a coke and biscuits and crisps. Breakfast was amazing and dinner was stunning also

Nice facilities, and room. Breakfast was nice, however it took an hour to have breakfast due to the slow service. It seemed they were short staffed

The hotel looked great on arrival and even the room was large. But when i ran a bath hair floated from the plug so i abandoned that and went to the shower to find more long dark hair. After my shower i was sitting on the bed when i felt something on my shoulder i moved to bat it off and it stuck to my wet hand. It was a large clump of dust debris which had beencollecting on the top of the headboard so when i saw where it came from and how dirty the room was i started to notice ore and more dirt.

Lovely setting and very nice building with lots of old features. There are separate buildings meaning that some rooms need to be accessed by going outside, as does the spa and pool. This is fine unless it's cold or raining. The food was very good and beds comfortable, everything to a good standard. The thing that was not was access to the pool for children which wasn't made clear to my husband on enquiry before booking, despite asking. When we arrived and found that children weren't permitted in the pool from 5pm and only allowed in the following morning from 9-11, that basically ruined our evening. The whole idea of us having a stopover with our daughter here was a treat for her too, and this was a great let-down. The pool wasn't particularly busy, we were with one child, and there was one other couple with the same complaint and one child. If you have a policy like this please make it plain at the time of booking. I don't appreciate spending a couple of hundred pounds for this kind of experience, and had we known, we would have either booked elsewhere or not made the stop off at all. While the reception was very apologetic, there was no offer to make up for this inconvenience. Hence the average review, which is a shame.

Anniversary night away - big room and bathroom! Lovely pool, sauna and hot tub - didn’t have time for a spa treatment sadly! Food delicious and service was excellent throughout the hotel. Soft furnishings slightly “tired” but good quality

We went with friends and we were all delighted with every aspect of our stay. One of our party required gluten free food and this was provided without any problem. Rooms impressive and all staff exceptional.
