Hotel Dann Carlton Quito

Exceptional hotel. Beautifully decorated and extremely quiet. The mattress is blissfully comfortable. The bathroom is clean and luxurious. There’s an iron and ironing board. Sending your laundry for cleaning is expensive though. A absolute welcome to stay there after a long arduous journey over the last few weeks. Rooms are comfortable and very clean. A choice of eateries. There’s a swimming pool and gym but remember to bring a swimming hat or you will not be able to access the pool. We ate in the hotel throughout our stay and didn’t wander out at night. Besides, after exhausting day trips we didn’t feel it necessary.

Stayed 2 nights at the end of our trip. First room was a suite but had a terrible sewer smell from the bathroom. Second room was on a lower floor, also a suite, and remodeled. Much more comfortable and pleasant. Lots of room for luggage, great breakfast with good coffee and lots of variety. The hotel is clean and safe. Lovely flower arrangements throughout. Good location for shopping and dining.

A very nice full-service property. I had a very good dinner that was reasonably priced. And the exercise facilities were exceptional with a pool, exercise equipment rivaling a dedicated gym. My standard room was spacious, with a desk, sofa, and chair. It had a mini fridge and the bed and sheets were very comfortable. Breakfast was included and it had many options. My only complaint was that the internet servicing my room was often not working (though it was fine else on the property).

My wife and I recently completed a small group tour to Equador. We stayed two nights in Quito at the Dann Carlton hotel. People in our group experienced a flooded bathroom due to a shower drain, not hot water for the two nights for a couple in our group, rooms that never got cleaned, lack of clean towels, and lack of any response from the front desk. The majority of the staff were friendly and the food quality was good. To be fair the hotel was going through some renovation work but I seemed to be a hotel management issue. I couldn’t recommend this hotel.

Last two nights of our Equadorian vacation, our tour group of 18 stayed at the Dann Carton. Worst hotel! Room lacked hot water for shower. After we complained we were told we need to let the water run a while. So next morning it ran for 40 minutes-- and still a cold shower. Room had one coffee cup, and one day, only had one towel, although the room had 2 beds, and two occupants. Others in the group complained of lack of hot water, clogged shower drain that flood bathroom, broken coffee-makers and electrical outlets that did not work. Reception desk was often lacking staff. Hotel has an attractive lobby, that is a facade to conceal a bad hotel.

Beautiful hotel BUT too many things don’t work. 1 checked in room key didn’t work elevator Went to room only one bed and not 2 as requested. New room key. Hot water was a hit and miss on bathing Shower flooded bather due to drain removed drain cover all worked well Only one roll of toilet paper. Ran out in middle of night. UGH! Never received wake up call as requested Room not cleaned. Bed was made and fresh towels received. Trash not emptied dirty cup left. Lighting in sink area very dim

Staff behaviour is very good and the properly is very well maintained a d secure

A little noisy since it looks like there's a school nearby and the kids noise woke us up in the morning. Also did not help that the staff was knocking on everyone's door offering laundry service in the morning and was heard almost on the whole floor before they even got knock on our door.

Beautiful hotel with welcoming atmosphere, vibrant feel, great amenities and seating areas, clean rooms, hallways. Extensive breakfast bar with good quality food. Strict rules on pool use - hair nets- mean no swimming through hair strands (gross!). Steam & sauna working with eucalyptus. Downside- remember to bring room towel. Coffee shop stocked with lovely sweets. Room service quick, good food, all needed items. So nice to relax in for a few days before/after Amazon adventuring
