"Don’t stay for breakfast"

Stayed for 1 night as we were on business and it would be a quick visit. Booked room 36, the four poster lake view room. Looked nice when we checked in. However the room did not bear close scrutiny. Filthy windows inside and out (the main feature is the view out of the windows), toilet that didn’t flush and poured water all night and general feeling that it needed a further clean. Breakfast was an unpleasant experience. Very busy and I felt like I was in a travel lodge. Everything was get your own and coffee and toast machine were in a ridiculous high traffic area with staff pushing past. Took one look at cooked breakfast and didn’t bother. When we checked out we were not offered a copy of the bill and the lady didn’t even ask if we had enjoyed our stay. Very happy to check out. It’s a shame as it’s a lovely building in a great location. Will not be back.

"Superb location. Grandeur of the building let down by unprofessional staff and poor menu."

Superb location overlooking the piers.

Staff were over-familiar. The dinner menu was very small and unimaginative. One meal was inedible.

"Relaxing stay at the Belsfield"

Had a lovely three night stay here recently. Staff was professional and helpful at check in, with particular thanks to Philip who had many practical and good suggestions on things to do and see. Had a very pleasant first floor room with a view of the lake. The room was clean, renovated, well appointed and more spacious than I had anticipated, with a comfortable bed. Had dinner at the hotel twice and good experience both times, thanks to Taylor and team (try the Eton mess for dessert) Breakfast was in the main dining room and offered a decent selection. I would be very happy to stay here again.

Perfect location, very friendly staff, fast amd efficient check in/check out

We had a cot in our room on the 2nd floor but even with using the lift, we still had to go up and down several smaller sets of steps which were difficult with a pushchair. Perhaps cot bookings could be allocated to the ground floor?
