The room and facilities were clean but there was no aircon for the stifling hot weather, although there was a cooling fan, but it didn't make any difference, and in addition the towel rail in the bathroom was on which only made the atmosphere even more difficult. I turned the shower on but couldn't regulate the temperature, so it was boiling hot, but then I was unable to turn it off, so consequently the bathroom and bedroom were filled with steam and it was like a sauna in the heatwave. It transpired that I just had to have a wash. I told the staff on the reception and they kindly went and sorted the problem, but I was unable to have a shower the next morning.

The hotel has a fantastic history and more investment in the property's furnishings and food and beverage would pay dividends.

The atmosphere of the hotel and staff feels like it has a limited lifespan and lacks the basic requirement's of a modern day hotel in providing a vibrant restaurant and bar facilities.
