The Lion Hotel Shrewsbury

Spacious and great hotel very central

Rooms could be more modern

Location was great, very old fashions but I liked this as it had character

Think it was over priced for a stay without breakfast

Great central location Nice clean rooms and a wonderful old building

Room was rather noisy with plumbing and noise from other guests, mattress could probably do with renewing too as it was rather lumpy

Very comfortable and well run. The rooms were spotlessly clean and our stay was great value for money. Parking on site is very reasonable. The big advantage of The Lion is its location which is perfect for exploring the gorgeous town of Shrewsbury and all it has to offer.

The staff, though quite young were very helpful both during the day and night. Thete was a wide range of clientel.

Perhaps some of the window frames could do with refreshing and all the rooms tv's connections checked to see if they worked. Some of the bathroom floors and fittings could do with an update to ensure safety. I stayed there at least four times during my month stay in the area

Wasn’t expecting much after reading reviews, but honestly we stayed in the dickens suite, good size, comfortable bed, hot water, clean no smells, very happy with our room, reason for a 3 star, it such a shame that an absolutely could be stunning hotel, wasted, bar but no staff or customers, no where to sit and have a coffee, restaurant closed, it’s absolutely massive and wasted, just sad.

A unfriendly,get feeling there desperate for customers,eh,£, allowed to have my room,how kind, being as I'm the one that's paid for it, will never stay here again..frosty approach,no warm friendly open welcome..in fact an awkward approach..rooms ok..but the place doesn't offer anything else..not even an ounce of humility..
