SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Gatlinburg

Being a Best Western Diamond Select, I have stayed in probably 50 to 60 different Best Western hotels. This Sure Stay plus by Best Western is the second worst BW hotel I have ever stayed in (#1 is in Oklahoma). I planned on staying in Pigeon Forge, but when I saw I could get a suite here for 6 nights for $150 less, I thought it was a great deal. Well I got a very large suite with a very large bathroom and a very large shower. It also had a balcony overlooking a river. They also have an iron and board. That is as far as the good news about this hotel goes. First of all the check-in gentleman seemed to be put out by us arriving. He acted like we were bothering him by wanting to check in to our rooms. Our suite came with a desk table and a separate table and 4 chairs. That table wobbles like a tilt-a-whirl. You wouldn’t dare put anything on it, because it would tilt and slide off. We have always left a daily tip for housekeeping, because they work hard, and the tip generally gets us a little extra attention by the housekeeper. Well that didn’t work here. No matter what, they did no more then empty our waste baskets and give us clean towels. They didn’t even make our bed. They didn’t wipe down the shower either. They let it drip dry (as we could find water in our shower when we came back). We even left notes on things: such as the black mold in the shower, but those things never got touched. We never got vacuumed. A piece of paper on the floor laid there for 3 days. Our room had carpet and regular floors, and you could see that the floor was dirty and probably not mopped or swept in weeks. Some days we didn’t even get a clean bag for our ice bucket. Needless to say they didn’t earn their tip, and we stopped leaving it. The breakfast was sub par for a Best Western. Sausage & scrambled eggs one day, bacon & scrambled eggs the next day. They had the other basics: muffins, bagels, bananas and tiny yogurts. The one bright side of the breakfast is the breakfast attendant. He was terrific, and always on top of the food situation keeping everything fresh and full. My sister-in-law and husband also had a suite on a different floor. Their first night they encountered leaves on their couch and their lock to their balcony was broken and wouldn’t lock. They too, encountered the same housekeeping issues that we did. When I look at the cleaning situation and the basic breakfast, I believe it’s the ownership that’s causing the problems. They are squeezing every cent they can out of this hotel. I really believe this place is understaffed. This hotel is not up to Best Western standards, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I believe if this was my first experience with a Best Western affiliated hotel, I would never try Best Western ever again.

LITERALLY AWESOME! Check-in was smooth & amazing. Room was very clean, beds were very soft. The balcony was nice, we could hear the river from inside our hotel, which was perfect especially at nighttime!! THE LOCATION??? walking distance to everything, because if not parking is $20 on the strip! we didn’t have to pay parking at all, because the location is just that great where we could walk everywhere. 10/10 RECOMMEND & I WILL BE BACK! <3

We loved our weekend in gatlinburg this hotel has been the best one we’ve stayed at over there it’s clean the rooms are huge highly recommend this hotel very clean and friendly staff

Breakfast was wonderful the most amazing staff at breakfast Hylton who made my family feel so loved and welcomed . He kept the bar stocked and clean at all times it was great

The property was conveniently located on the far end of Gatlinburg still walking distance to the trolley so it was very convenient for us as well as convenient to decent dining! And the staff was absolutely amazing 10 out of 10

The only thing I would say that I didn’t like about the facility is comfort, but that will not stop me from using the same property again
