Makeney Hall Hotel

The beautiful old building and views A hidden gem The staff are a huge credit to the hotel Victoria on reception was absolutely fantastic and a maintenance chap who is very knowledgeable on the history of the building and friendly Mackney hall has a lovely ambience of a bygone era (Yes the few odd things need upgrading here and there) but that doesn't detract from its beauty There aren't enough of these places left and far too many of the plastic travel lodge type Breakfast hot, fresh and plentiful, with a great choice

Bathroom in room 18 needs a bit of tlc

The bed was so comfortable, and it looks like the bathroom has been refurbished. I normally stay in room downstairs courtyard 38 or 37, this time was upstairs in room 4. Nice comfortable room. Staff very friendly and helpful

Unfortunately the reason I was there was because of a family death, so we were very sad. Hopefully next time a happier occasion..I stay at the hotel regularly as it is close to my family. I was planning to bring my dog but he ended up having to stay at hone due to hospital visits.

The Hotel was great and the food was very good. Location was great.

The Extractor fan in the bathroom was that loud l nearly lost the will to live! Room 21.

On arrival when the receptionist saw that my wife was partly disabled and the lift was out of action she volunteered to switch us to a ground floor room. An excellent piece of customer service. Overall - all the staff were first class, friendly and helpful. Excellent evening dinner.
