Horrible experience

When I left

The location was fine. The tv and kettle worked and the shower blasted lovely hot water. The bedding was clean and fresh. Sadly those are the highlights.

The bed was very old and tired. Springs were long since retired. Every aspect of the room was in a similar state, old, tired and in need of replacing. Mould and grime was everywhere in the shower/ bathroom. A very sad state for a once lovely place.

Nothing.. it is not a safe place to stay..

My daughter and I did not feel safe at all, we did not even leave our belongings there when we were away from the hotel. The damage in the room which we photographed, we only stayed 1 night out of the 3 that we had booked, managing to find alternative accommodation with help of family. We barricaded the door- thankfully because someone tried to break into our room during the night. We witnessed an attempted break in of someone’s van. We barely slept because we felt so unsafe. We have asked for a refund..

The only thing I liked was it's location. It was reasonably close to the Himley Hall where I was attending a function and the fact I avoided paying for parking by entering my reg number into the iPad on the front desk.

What didn't I like ? Well where do I start. This Hotel is very close to being the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I guess at some time in the long and distant past, it was a good Hotel but after enduring years of obvious neglect, in my opinion it should not still be operating as a Hotel. Once you arrive on the car park, it gives you an idea of what to expect on the inside. Once you go in you get the impression that the entire place would benefit from a good clean. The room decor was outdated and again in need of a good clean, in the bathroom there was mold growing on the shower curtain, there was no air whatsoever in the room and worst of all the window catches were covered over in thick cobwebs. Lastly after paying for bed and breakfast, I was blown away to find the hotel does not do food of any kind. On the whole, an experience I will never again repeat.

The location, it was close to himley hall which is we were attending an event.

The reception staff was unhelpful, rude on arrival and didn’t give us any useful information like where to locate our rooms. When we arrived, we were introduced with you can’t check in yet, not until 2pm when we arrived at 12pm. Although there is the option to check in early or to store our luggage as we were told by a colleague of the hotel on booking.com. As we got to the rooms, we noticed black and orange stains in bath of the twin room and stains on carpet and it just looked unclean. The rooms were really uncomfortable and hot, it was like the heating was on, when it was almost 30 degrees that day. The beds were dipped in the middle and full of springs, the noise from outside with the men with cans of beer and loud speakers disturbed us at 2am in the morning. The rooms are in desperate need of renovating, it’s old fashioned and in despair. We would not stay here again after this experience and we would definitely spend a bit more at the competitor other the road. Not worth the hassle at all.
