The Cellars-Hohenort

We visited Cape Town in early June and spent six days at The Cellars-Hohenort Hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, with the beautiful views of South Africa’s iconic Table Mountain and the extraordinary gardens surrounding the property. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the food and wines were exceptional. From the full English breakfast to the fine dining experiences, every meal was enjoyable. The staff were attentive, friendly, and always willing to help. We truly appreciated the hospitality of both the staff and the management team. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. We would like to thank all those who worked so hard to make our visit so special. A special mention goes to Quiet from the restaurant evening team, who always greeted us with a smile and made us feel welcome. He has excellent knowledge of the wines and menu, and we greatly enjoyed his recommendations and company. The breakfast team: Ferika was always available to assist us and ensured we had everything we wanted from the wide variety of breakfast options. The housekeeping team: Yonela and Phumeza were excellent and made sure our room was always comfortable and well prepared. Reception: Mbali was very supportive, professional, and friendly throughout our stay. We had a truly pleasant stay and will definitely be returning. We hope to see you all again soon.

The Cellars-Hohenhort is a lovely place to stay in the Constantia area. It was a quick drive from Cape town International airport. We used the official taxi stand and the price to get there was 550 Rand. The property is so beautiful and the staff is really nice. We are Hilton diamond and no upgrade was available. We booked on points and had the lowest level room. It was up on the the third floor and there is no lift. Luckily, the bell staff carried our luggage up. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious. We could see in to some of the other rooms during the cleaning service and they looked like they had really nice views. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. We missed seeing the resident tortoise outside so we may need to make another trip to South Africa.

Had an excellent day at this historic hotel. Rooms are outstanding and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. Purchased an upgraded room and was not disappointed. Well, not in downtown Cape Town they provide social service to waterfront and nearby gardens. I would definitely recommend this hotel and we’ll come back in the future.

Breakfast was excellent and we had a dinner in the restaurant too that was good. The staff are very friendly.

There may be some language issue as I wanted 6 minute soft boiled eggs in the shell one morning with my english breakfast but still got fried eggs but not a big issue and staff offered to change it but it was fine.
