"It is lovely, but for the price we wouldn't stay again."

7.0

The staff, who in the main are exceptionally helpful. Especially the restaurant manageress (whose name now escapes me) who took time and trouble to discuss things. The food - dinner and breakfast were good.

The hotel is bitty, with staircases/ corridors of the converted house. It has very good but overstuffed facilities. The dining room is like a jungle (deliberately?). More attention is paid to the garden(s) than anything else. It is small hotel - conference facility/wedding venue hotel? In a leafy lovely suberb = cut off. We had a spacious couple of rooms at the back of the hotel and a vast bathroo, room no. 14, with a view of a flat roof. Small things, such as honey in a glass without a proper spoon were messy. Various things werent labelled so you didn't know what was what. It sounds petty but it was irritating.

"It’s a lovely place to relax and very comfortable but I think for what we paid it didn’t feel worth the price."

It’s a beautiful property. So serene and stunning location too.

Property Just needs a bit of uplift especially the bathrooms shower area too small. It just feels like it’s not cleaned enough. Food was ok could do better.

Air con could have been a lot better we asked twice to have it looked at but it was no better- room was lovely although it did smell a bit musty.

"Wonderful location and hotel"

9.0

We stayed here as a treat on a recent trip. The hotel and its surroundings are stunning. Lots of different accommodation buildings and beautiful grounds with lots of nooks to explore. We stayed in a standard room which was in the 2nd building on the 3rd floor. Our room was lovely and very spacious with everything you need-fully stocked mini bar which was complimentary. The toiletries are from Africology which are lovely. Our rate includes breakfast which is served in the conservatory or on the terrace. It included continental and cooked breakfast. It was delicious. We also had dinner on our first night in the conservatory. The dinner was amazing-very delicious.

A few things that could be improved: understanding it’s an old property, but the windows rattle and leak noise, maybe consider secondary glazing. Noise from people walking past the door can be disturbing, maybe fitting sound proofing would help. It didn’t affect us too much but can imagine in the busy months it would be noisy. On our 2nd night we went down to the conservatory for dinner at 6pm, to be told that they were slammed and we couldn’t eat until 7:30pm. The restaurant was not full by any means and it would have been good if the hotel let you know you should book to guarantee a table. We decided to order room service and we were served in less than 30 minutes which was great. We tried to settle our bill the night before we left as we were leaving at 6:30am. We were told that it would have to be done in the morning. It just meant to added stress to us leaving as the traffic to the airport can be
