We were disappointed in this property. It is very old and outdated (except for the lobby area which was quite nice). We arrived after dark, the parking lot had few working lights. Just a few lights lit up the entrance. It felt very unsafe. The hallways to the room were were dirty and the wallpaper was peeling off. The room itself was dirty, dead bugs aling the baseboards, it smelled musty. I could go on, but you probably get the picture. We go to Williamsburg alot and there are way better options for accommodations.

This was my first visit to this property for ConVivial 2025. The hotel was very comfortable, though I had to turn the thermostat up much higher than normal to sleep comfortably. The staff were great, and the breakfast buffet was very good. Looking forward to coming back next year.

Avoid this hotel. I wish I'd listened to my instincts, but it was the hotel for a conference I was attending, so I booked a room. I did not stay more than five minutes before checking myself back out and moving to the (very nice and always reliable) Doubletree a mile and a half down the road. I arrived at night and the parking lot was pitch black. No lights anywhere. It's also nearly impossible to navigate if you don't already know where you're going. The lobby smelled of smoke. No staff were anywhere to be found, and there was no bell or anything to get anyone's attention. I had to wait five minutes before someone turned up. He was pleasant enough. The guestrooms do not appear to have been renovated since the 1960s, apart from swapping in somewhat newer TVs. They are very dark -- no overhead lights in mine at least. I suppose that might help to conceal other problems. The room also smelled like smoke, despite being nonsmoking -- but if they haven't replaced carpets and drapes since smoking *was* allowed, then they're never getting rid of the smell. It's baked into the walls. Bathroom fixtures were also ancient. I did have to return for the conference sessions. The conference areas are, bizarrely, on complete opposite ends of a sprawling hotel. It's a several minute walk even at a clip pace; if you have mobility issues, forget about it. The conference rooms smelled of mold and were triggering people's allergies. This hotel did not feel safe or clean. I opted not to subject myself to it. Unfortunately lost one night's deposit, but I was much, much happier elsewhere.

As we went on a convention weekend you would expect for things to have been loud amd crazy but it was the opposite. We did have a leak from the room above, not the hotels fault, front desk had our room switched within 20 minutes.

Do not be misled by the hotel’s photos—this property falls far short of expectations. While there are a few positives, such as an aesthetically pleasing lobby and a basic yet satisfactory continental breakfast, the overall experience was highly disappointing. Upon entering our first room, we immediately encountered multiple issues: the television was inoperable, the refrigerator was dirty with dried residue on the shelves, and the hair dryer did not work. After notifying the front desk, they kindly offered to switch our room, which was appreciated—until further issues arose. In the second room, the hair dryer also did not work. After calling the front desk from my personal phone (as the in-room telephone was nonfunctional), I was assured that someone would address the issue, but no one ever arrived. Additionally, we noticed a pillowcase with a hole, cobwebs in the corners, carpets were stained and, most concerning of all, cockroaches in the room. This hotel has the potential to be a great stay, but it is clear that management does not prioritize room maintenance, guest satisfaction or cleanliness. Until significant improvements are made, I strongly recommend avoiding this property.

I like that it was located close to a lot of restaurants and various attractions.

I didn’t like that the facilities are really dated not in a nostalgic way, but the hotel needs a complete upgrade the rooms the doors need paint the fixtures are old. The light in the bathroom didn’t work. The electrical in the room had to make use of too many extension cords it just needs to be rewired. It’s a nice Structure of a hotel. It’s just in desperate need of some serious upgrades.
