Residence Inn Kansas City Overland Park

I made a reservation to stay at this hotel and due to weather conditions, I had to cancel at last minute. I have messaged tis hotel twice in regards abut getting a refund but they do not respond whatsoever.

We booked a hotel that was advertised as having a working pool. Once we checked in we were informed the pool has been closed for renovations for days. We specifically searched for a hotel with a pool as we had 3 kids with us. The front desk told us we can drive 3 miles to a sister hotel and use that pool….it was -5 out after i got off the phone with the front desk. How stupid are you all to send people out with swim suits on in that cold weather. I was told a manager would call me in the morning and discount our stay. No one has called and i was charged the full rate. So more lies. Very shady place. Hallway smells like paint Exposed electrical outlets in the hall so that is a huge safety hazard for kids around. One of the bedrooms jn the double suite we had was hot and the other was cold. The beds and pull out couch were as soft as a sheet of plywood. The breakfast was lacking.

I’ve stayed here several times. This time was very disappointing. After making my reservation, I called the hotel the day of my arrival to confirm my reservation and see if my room was ready. I called four times and my call was never answered. When checking in, I asked if their phones were working. No apology! I needed ice and there was no ice bucket in the room. I went to the front desk and was told that there was an ice maker in the refrigerator. If I needed ice now, I needed to bring a bowl from the room to the ice machine on the first floor. Which I did. I turned on the ice maker. The next morning, no ice!! Nothing!! The shower head was very loose and sprayed straight down. It was impossible to get under the water. I tried to secure it. It was so loose that I was afraid it would completely disconnect if I messed with it very much. The hotel is undergoing a significant renovation. So much so that most, if not all, of the first floor rooms were closed off. All wall coverings had been stripped away such that it was quite ugly. I feel this should have Bern disclosed when the reservation was made. Not close to what I’ve come to expect from a Residence Inn!

It’s hard to review because the facility is being remodeled; painting, new carpet, etc.

After a mixup on reservations from a “third party “ we finally got the room we reserved on the 3rd try. Carla was very helpful

location was great for what we needed, the breakfast has been very good also.

We have stayed here 2 times and each visit we had issues first time the TV was not working so they moved us and the second trip the ice maker was not working in the room's refrigerator so we had to have an ice bucket brought up and walked a long walk to the ice machine on the first floor. Neither of these were life threatening. Good place.
