Leonardo Royal Hotel Oxford

We stayed at the Leonardo Royal Hotel in Oxford for two nights and had a lovely experience. The hotel itself is modern and welcoming, with clean rooms that had all the essentials we needed for a comfortable stay. The on-site restaurant and bar were absolutely lovely – great atmosphere and food – and the staff throughout were friendly and helpful. The location is also a big plus, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Would definitely recommend!

We travelled back here again after staying here previously the year before. When we arrived , the hotel was fully booked , plus there was a wedding party in one of the function rooms. For some strange reason, we were offered an 'upgrade' to a better room up on the next floor, with an extra bed, which we did not need. The resepsionist insisted on helping us up the stairs with our luggage, something we said that we did not need. We had a feeling that the room that we had ordered, had been givien to the wedding party guests ? Two large stains on the carpet in the room, were not very pleasant either. Excellent breakfast , same as before, but we cancelled our return visit there a week later, due to the treatment that we had recieved...Sorry Leonardo !

Quiet and spacious. Very convenient to city.

The location was great for going to Oxford. Breakfast also has a variety of options. The room was good although think would need a touch up since the carpets already had some stains. Overall would have been nice. The only thing was that they charged me twice! I already paid through hotel.com but when I put my details in to pay for parking, they also charged me for another two nights. Tried calling them and they said they’d call me back but didn’t. Tried emailing too but nobody responded. Had to contact my bank to tell them to reverse the payment (it’s still being investigated).

Beautiful

Traveled to Oxford with family this past June as part of a road trip after meeting up in London. Oxford is such a beautiful town, perfectly located for exploring the surrounding areas. Our stay at the Leonardo Royal Hotel was fantastic from the start. Check-in was warm and welcoming — the staff addressed me by name, which added a nice personal touch, and I was delighted to be offered a complimentary room upgrade. Thank you for that! The rooms were bright, thoughtfully designed, and spotless — a great balance of comfort and style. Breakfast in the restaurant exceeded expectations, with a wide selection of options to suit all tastes. Special thanks to Lee Wood for his assistance with my reservation — truly appreciated the helpful and responsive service. I highly recommend staying at the Leonardo Royal if you're visiting Oxford. A great experience all around!

Food was very average. Room was up a flight of stairs no lift. Staff were not really interested in helping at all

I booked this place, rather than less expensive options, mostly because they claimed to have A/C in the rooms, as that was very important to me. The A/C seemed to be working fine in the common areas. However, my room, and apparently many others, did not have working A/C during the majority of my two-night stay. Both evenings, I went to bed with a room temperature in the 30's (degrees C). They kept telling me that it should be fixed soon (otherwise I would have gone elsewhere for the second night). So, I would not consider staying here again during the warmer months. Even if the temperature outside drops at night, the room will remain hot because the windows only open a small crack. Other aspects of the hotel were pretty average; I would have given it 3-4 stars if it weren't for the A/C issue. So, it may not be a bad option during cooler weather, if the price is right.

Wonderful hotel, great helpful staff. Only negative is it’s not in the city, but we were ok with that because we didn’t want To drive our car in the city. Just 10 mins away, great clean place!
