Dragonfly Hotel Bury St Edmunds

Great location for us...just off the bypass, hotel was clean and tidy. Facilities were good..breakfast was in abundance and the bar was well stocked. Bedroom nice size , clean usable bathroom.

Hotel was great so nothing to dislike.

The staff were friendly and helpful.

The dinner and breakfast food quality was awful, especially the frozen veggies and 'smash' instead of real potatoes.

The location was very convenient and the parking meant it was easy to get to town.

Its situation was excellent for the town but just outside to be quiet.

The breakfast on the Saturday was very poorly run. There was very limited juice yoghurts and pastries and we came down before 9:00am

Breakfast was poor. Coffee machine not working, juice ran out, eggs badly overcooked, staff tried their best but they were clearly badly understaffed.

We stayed overnight in what I’d call the newer part of the hotel room 404, the room was lovely the only gripe would be that whenever the doors next door are closed they make the room shudder, the shower is amazing . We had dinner but I wouldn’t recommend it, mine was over cooked and obviously left on the side so was cold, my family members had stayed for 4 nights and had raw food , cold food and breakfast was not even available no coffee machine, no juice and no food , we got told by a member of staff “well if you come down later it will be gone” which I said “ you serve breakfast from 6.30-9.30 so there should be food up until then, the bar and reception staff were lovely which helps as it is not always a cheap stay.
